The hotel is new and is very attractive for families with the waterpark. The room was very clean and had an amazing view, but I was unpleasantly surprised how uncomfortable the bed was. For the cost, I expected luxury pillowtop mattresses. The only other surprise was how long it took to check-in, and my kids were upset because all they wanted was to get into the waterpark. With 1600 rooms, I would have expected more staff at the front desks.

The “day pass users” get the best spots. Since day pass visitors only come for the day, they naturally bring bags—each one taking up space on the benches. The good, shaded areas are already taken by day pass users, hotel guests are left with the non-shaded spots or benches far from the pool. It’s disappointing for people who paid a premium for the room and resort fee. Another concern is security. Even non hotel guests can access the elevators leading to the rooms, which doesn’t feel safe or controlled. The only good thing I can say is that it’s clean and new. Other than that, it feels like just a regular hotel/staycation. This is our experience, and others may have a very different, more pleasant one.

Great time here. My kids loved the pools. We got the breakfast package which was totally worth it. Would definitely return.

The only thing I’m concerned about is the parking. It’s expensive, especially with all the additional fees. I already booked the hotel, and I still have to pay the hotel fees as well.

This hotel was spectacular!! Wow! Our room was ocean view snd just beautiful! The restaurants are so good. The pool area is so fun! It’s such a beautiful resort!!

While the stay was comfortable overall, I didn't feel the room fully reflected the premium price. I noticed stains on the pillows and the bathroom walls, which was surprising given the cost of the stay. For the price, I had expected a higher level of cleanliness and attention to detail.

Great! Will be coming back!

The friendliness of staff. No matter who we talked to, we were greeted and helped. Hotel is clean and spacious. Lots of amenities and great restaurants. Valet parking takes too long to get the vehicle when leaving the hotel. The Play Room needs better games for children

Very modern and clean. Spacious, bright and easy to find what you need. Elevators were quick for a large hotel. Pools are amazing, clean and plenty of lifeguards. Still working out kinks after a full year. Biggest concern was room phones do not work. Excuse offered was budget cuts, but “I think we’re getting a new phone system soon.” In the meantime, use the app to reach the front desk by text. Unacceptable in an emergency!

This was probably the best hotel and experiences at a San Diego hotel we have ever had!! Highly recommend and cant wait to revisit the Gaylord!!

The hotel lobby is very nice and the water park area was nice. Checkin staff was not helpful and rushed to check in but didn’t really explain anything and had to ask another person. Went to room and found toothpaste smeared on bathroom faucet and counters looked dirty. The charging station on table had crumbs. The bathroom shampoo, body gel, conditioner was about 25% full so it’s like we used what was left from the previous guest, we are family of 4 and barely had enough body wash to use. For the price we paid a night for the room you would expect a better customer service for checkin and rooms much cleaner. Didn’t feel like the rooms were clean. At time of checkout had issues with charges from restaurant and during checkout person called yo restaurant and said I still have to pay on full and restaurant will reimburse but that’s a hassle to deal with charge and reimbursement that could have been avoided. Plus they charge for self park $45/ day . That’s ridiculous when you pay so much for the hotel $600 a night and have to pay to park too.

The hotel, water park and grounds were fantastic. Lots of thought put into the layout and all the details. The food was pretty good but definitely over priced. The staff interaction left something to be desired. Not super welcoming upon check in and they didn't tell us the kind of things one would need to know upon their 1st visit. Didn't even give us wristbands, had to come back again and wait in line. Didn't properly explain self park and how it's paid. That kind of thing. However, America at the pool was the complete opposite. Lots of energy and very pleasant. Good job 'Merica!

Unfortunately, had a horrible experience at this resort despite how excited we were to stay here. First impression it’s beautiful and clean, but once you pay attention to the details, they definitely are understaffed and are using automation to save budget. There was a convention during our stay so you would expect more traffic and more staff, but that was not the case. There were areas where I just saw cigarette buds on the floor multiple times. Coffee spilled at the first entrance as you walk in with no sign of anyone coming to clean it while we waited 20 minutes for valet. .in th elevators, there was a lot of water which is expected because there’s a pool but it’s an easy case for someone to fall. Our silverware and glass cups were not clean when we dined at the restaurant. Tried the cafe which wasn’t bad until my eggs had hair in them and Tasted like they were cooked old oil that tasted like meat. I tried to return it for a credit but since I ate half of it, they said they are not able to. I guess Hair is the secret ingredient! Pool food wasn’t good either. My nachos were very, very watered down and again I tried to exchange it before eating most of it and they said that I couldn’t because it’s already been opened and touched. The hotel comes off as luxury but you definitely don’t get that for the price that you pay. With all of my feedback I only got $100 credit which for a family of five really does nothing. I don’t recommend this hotel Omni in. Carlsbad is way better
