Cute spot. More of a glorified trailer park then we though it would be. Bars are only open on weekends and lobby closes early so if you need provisions bring them with you.

I chose this property for a one night stay cay. Our unit was sparkling clean and had lots of thoughtful touches. The property was absolutely beautiful and the service was very responsive. I will 100% come back.

Everything was amazing! The cutest cabins and property. Amenities were great. Staff completely helpful, responsive, and attentive. Highly recommend will definitely be back. Pool, cabanas, and bar area clean and so fun.

This property sits at a choke point for the tubing companies, and by the time floaters reach the hotel they're already obnoxiously drunk. It would be fine if they were just passing through but the hotel has decided that making money off of them is more important than their guests. They have a tent and large speaker set up blasting Katy Perry while selling alcohol to the floaters, causing them to linger on the private river bank. It feels less like a boutique hotel and more like a spring break party that you paid $300 a night to accidentally join. To make matters worse, an employee working the river bar tent questioned whether we were guests. The hundreds of intoxicated floaters seemed to be the hotel's preferred customers. After the crowds finally cleared out, the riverbanks were littered with empty cans and trash, but the hotel's alcohol tent remained. Apparently selling drinks is a higher priority than cleaning up the mess left behind. The cabins are fine, though smaller than they appear online. The shower never got hot, and guests aren't allowed to bring their own alcohol to the pool. Save your money and stay somewhere that actually values its guests and the river.

The atmosphere was excellent. Cute havitatations. Very clean & put together well. The access to the river was fun. Pool was relaxing to hang out at. If I were to change anything it would be these 2. The bed, atleast for my wife & I, wasn’t comfortable. The other would be a dining option on site. Either a little grill or cafe or a local restaurant that the hotel pairs with to provide options to guests. Other than that this place was phenomenal. Waking in the morning & sitting on my mini porch listening to nature & the rushing river was a serene way to end our trip

We were looking for a unique stay and this was it. Everything from check in to check out was fantastic, super appreciated the pool being adults only, the pool bar and staff were amazing, the bed was comfy and the water pressure was great! Pro tip - sleep with the door open and fan on if you’re hot natured like us and it’s very comfortable. The staff were patient, friendly and helpful and the complimentary welcome drink and weekend mimosas were a nice touch. We will definitely be back!!

The place was nice and well-appointed. The staff was top-notch, and Kennedy in the front office was spectacular.
-
Awesome property, perfectly located along the river.

Such a great hidden gem! River access and great pool! Will go again!

The adults-only environment made it feel peaceful and exclusive, while the chilled pool was an absolute dream in the Texas heat. We loved having direct river access right on the property, making it easy to spend the day floating, swimming, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The complimentary touches truly set this place apart. From the drinks to the warm hospitality, everything exceeded expectations. Even the champagne vending machine added a fun and unique touch that made the stay feel extra special. During Father’s Day weekend, they even offered complimentary Old Fashioneds for guests, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The owners and staff were some of the friendliest, most welcoming people we’ve ever encountered. They genuinely care about creating an exceptional experience, and it shows in every aspect of the property. Between the fire pits, the beautiful grounds, the relaxing pool, and the riverfront setting, there was never a moment that didn’t feel like a vacation. I cannot recommend Melrose River Club enough. If you’re looking for a peaceful, luxurious, and memorable escape, this is it. We left already planning our next visit.

My go to spot when I visit my son in San Marcos. It is a great for a couple's trip or friend trip. River access, a fun pool and bar. All the units I have stayed in have been beautiful. Cannot wait to book again.
-
This place has so much potential for lots of fun on the weekends, but during the week and for sole travelers, I would steer clear since there are no nearby restaurants or places to go except the pool.

We travel a lot and we travel to some of the best destinations you can imagine. I have not been so surprise in a good way in quite some time. The level of organic hospitality, natural beauty, amenities and intentionality was on a level of its own. Bravo to the hosts and crew that made ours stay such a win for our anniversary.

My second time staying at this property and I will not be back for a holiday weekend. The cabin was great. The pool area was obnoxious. There was little regard for paying hotel guests as the pool was crowded with friends of the owner and 10+ very young friends of the dj. Before entering the pool I was asked by a man (it was not clear that he worked there) if I was a guest and what cabin # I was staying in. Very uncomfortable situation as a female traveling alone. It’s a very nice property and I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit. Completely different vibe on the weekend while school is still in session.
