Chaminade Resort & Spa

Unfortunately some inconsistent service at their restaurant and FOH. Seated and left for 30 minutes on one occasion when there was only 3 other parties at the restaurant, I had to go and find someone inside. Also charges not listed at check-in, my card was just charged during the night and had to get them to explain what for the next day. Parking was also an issue, the hotel was used for a conference on my second day which meant the spaces were all taken, I am not sure why conference attendees are not required to park in specific areas. The valet was good though and gave us complimentary valet parking for the night.

It was very good. Would recommend staying here.

The restaurant staff was pretty good, one grouchy old guy. They can’t make tea, a cup of Luke warm water and tea bag, the lemonade tasted awful . The food was okay. The spa ladies were very nice. Spa and exercise space was dark and dingy. The junior suite was spacious but very 80’s

The services and the amenities there were just enough to make the resort enjoyable to stay the whole time and not drive anywhere. However I wished the hours of services would be open longer. There’s almost nothing to eat or do after 9pm

This is definitely all about the property itself. The rooms are just okay, and we did have requests that had to be made a couple of times before actually receiving the services. Not too sure I would stay here again however I would absolutely love to check out the spa and the services they offer. The property is beautiful and tucked away. That is what we wanted so that met our needs nicely.

Unfortunately, there were also some disappointing parts of our stay. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable, and I did not get a good night’s rest. The food was probably the biggest disappointment. We ate at the resort for both dinner and breakfast. My burger at dinner was completely overcooked and came with a different cheese than what I ordered. At breakfast, both my friend and I were told they were out of lattes, and the food was extremely bland. Overall, it’s a very pretty resort with great outdoor amenities, but I had much higher expectations, especially when it came to the food and the comfort of the bed.

Hard to not feel discriminated against and unsafe.

The hiking trail, bucolic setting, and proximity to Santa Cruz distinguish this resort from other vacation accommodations.

Very clean and friendly staff!

I came here with my girlfriend because went to go see the growlers. Definitely hands-down one of the best resorts I’ve ever been to. Everything was really easy to get around. The pool is definitely warm for the cold nights. Aired in the room was exactly how I expected. I love the theme. Thankfully, they do have Wi-Fi because we are up in the mountain. Everything else around it beautiful.

We stayed one night and I wish we could have stayed for a week! Beautiful property. Amazing staff. Front desk was so kind and on point. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in. Room was huge and well laid out. LOVED the patio. View onto beautiful trees and trails. It was very quiet while we were there. I will absolutely be back.

Wonderful property to relax and enjoy. There was a great trail to walk directly from the property that offered a great little bit of walking in the mountains.

Great rooms, different sizes and views, some have patios or balconies and some don't. Very relaxing with lots to do on property. Wonderful place to relax

Beautiful property, easy to access, near town, but also feels remote/nestled into the mountains. Room was a dream, we stayed in the family one with built in bunk beds. Loved the layout of the property, loved the grouping of rooms/the feeling of bungalows. Lastly, really appreciated water refill stations next to the ice machine!

We paid extra for the forest view patio but it did not look as what was advertised in the photos. There were many spider webs and bugs on the chairs outdoors. The pool area was nice and the room itself was also good.

The location and the view from the restaurant I didn’t like how the tub was peeling away. It looked like it was delaminating and flaking off. Also it had a black hair in it. It made me wonder if our room was cleaned well.

I wanted to love this place - had visited 20 years ago and remembered only the beautiful natural location. I did not remember the drive up requiring passing a large cemetery…I feel badly about what I need to say here b/c most staff were trying to be nice, but were ultimately unhelpful and not really service-oriented trained. Lots of (sewer?) work being performed under manhole covers, and at pool. I was almost hit by two employee golf carts FLYING around the corner of building. They need much safer sidewalk walking pathways…I watched an elderly lady had to be helped by family across precarious large stones just to get into her car. Lobby is beautiful however, Rooms are dark- furniture was tired and stained, dated - bed sheets were horrendously pilled and rough and very bad quality. Worst possible. Wonderful soaps/shampoo in rooms, I will say that! Bad tasting in room coffee.Spa staff were argumentative and unknowledgeable - not with just us, we witnessed 2 others having issues (sadly worst massage I’ve had in 30 yrs.) But they had drinking water…Hotel needs more- whole building had none. Parking was tight. No way to order food (QR code system did not work, no one at any desks would help me, so I forfeited my only available pool time to walk and order take out at the restaurant - it took me an hour and a half to get a sandwich.) Spa is ugly - layout is awkward, no charm or serenity or clean feelings anywhere in there…and bathroom smelled of urine. Whole place needs refresh.
