I had a wonderful stay at the Black Point Inn. The location is absolutely beautiful, and the entire team was warm, friendly, and attentive throughout my visit. I enjoyed several meals and cocktails at the restaurant, and every experience was welcoming and enjoyable. Everything about my stay made me feel relaxed and well taken care of. This is definitely an experience I look forward to repeating. Highly recommended! Hugo D.

Beautiful, historic hotel near Scarborough, ME with lovely ocean views.

We happened upon this hotel by chance and it is one of our favorite hotels up to this point. As soon as we stepped into the lobby we knew it was going to be perfect. The hotel lobby is the picture of a forgotten time. The dark wood floor, the velvet couches and chairs, and the open fire place set the mood immediately. The onsite restaurant was delicious and comparable in pricing to other restaurants in the area. The rooms are nicely kept with very comfortable and clean bedding. The touches of real flowers and sparkling or still water were perfect. There is an indoor widow's walk that one can check out while staying at the hotel. The free bikes and ocean walk are to nice to pass up. We loved this hotel and I cannot wait to visit again. Everyone we encountered on property were great!

Beautiful location, beautiful facilities. Great tea and coffee service in the lobby. Desk staff extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Great breakfast service with a wonderful waitress! Lunch pretty good with a fine waiter as well. Dinner was disappointing. The waitress seemed to be doing her best, but everything was slow as molasses. We had to wait more than twenty minutes for every item to be delivered. Food was tepid by the time we got it. My wife had Stadtler Chicken--it was a pitiful portion for the cost. We had a 6:30 reservation and we watched EVERYONE ELSE in the restaurant come and go while we sat waiting. We ended up being the last people out at 8:30, when we could have been finished a lot sooner if we didn't have to wait so long for every item to be delivered. Perhaps this was an anomaly. As I said above, breakfast and lunch the next day were efficient and tasty.

Excellent place to just kickback and enjoy some peace and quiet. Very comfortable room and lobby. The food excellent especially for a hotel.

Food was good. Service was poor Service was average at best. Out of coffee in the morning in the lobby - two consecutive days. Service at breakfast was very, very slow. Again two days in a row.

The location was great. Golf course, tennis and pickle ball within walking distance. Beach club was steps from the Inn. Restaurant was better than your average Inn. Very relaxed environment. AC unit in our room went down during our stay. The Inn installed a window which worked but it was rather noisy.

Only bad thing I would say is the Tennis Director, the older man, was very dismissive with an obvious disdain for BPI guests vs. members of the club. Twice he displayed an arrogant attitude to my wife that was simply unacceptable. However, the young French tennis pro was terrific and deserves praise. Not sure if you have any control over his behavior but thought you should be aware.

Room was very comfortable and spacious. Elevator is vintage manual and requires staff to operate. Menu choices very good, but limited dining options in area. We came here for the cliff walk and Winslow Homer studio, only to discover the studio is not open for tours until 2023. Still, pleasant walks in neighborhood.

Cliff Walk began at the end of the walkway Scarborough beach very near Food was good and staff wonderful The only thing was for the type of property the sheets were very worn and frayed
-
This is really a 140 year old inn, so they don't have to pretend to be a 140 year old inn. Laid back and unpretentious.
-
loved the adjacent hikes and beach

The location is great! Room 101 should not be rented out, it’s right next to the bar and resteraunt and is loud till late at night and then loud early in the am as the staff starts getting ready for breakfast. Barely slept. Expensive price for little to no sleep. Refuse room101 and ask for another room.

Months before hotel confirmed we had tub. Called week before as had a bad feeling and of course There was no room with tub . Had to call twice and leave message for manager before remedied. Also had to find new accomadations only a week before trip. Found Higgins Inn at Higgins beach clean tub beach. Wonderful

- The drain in the bath was plugged, we called, it was not fixed. - The gym was pathetic and had broken equipment. - I called the resort after booking and was told the view we had overlooked the bay. It did not, it overlooked the pool. The room was a nice size, but the view was not worth it. I was very disappointed.
