This place is an icon in Sebastian that I have been to many times. They have a great area for live music with great food/beverages. The view is amazing and first time I stayed at the hotel due to a wedding and the room was excellent; comfy bed, clean, water view!

We have never stayed at Capt Hirams before but always wanted to and it did not disappoint. The staff was helpful. The location can't be beat. The proximity to water, restaurants (multiple up and down the river) was perfect. I stayed over 4th of July with my teen son and it was a great family friendly option. The pool is small but very clean. Our room hadn't been vacuumed or our side tables cleaned when we arrived but the staff took care of it right away the next morning. Be aware, if you are flying in late, let them know or they do close out your reservation as a no show. We called and the staff explained and were extremely helpful throughout our stay. I will be staying here again!

Staff initially, not too responsive, but speaking with the manager cleared up a misunderstanding. Good Price on the rooms. Never been to property or Sebastian before. Don't go for the beaches, but DO GO if you're into fishing. Good food on property and off. Easy atmosphere and good night life on the property (music, drinks, etc). Went in July, told it was pretty busy Oct - Feb, I can see why. I'll come back, for sure.

The room was clean but had a bad smell to it

Captain Hirams has a great vibe and I was excited to stay there July 4th for the holiday. The hotel staff was excellent. I felt welcomed when I arrived and the were receptive and cheerful when I had questions. However, the the Sandbar staff were exactly opposite (with the exception of Erica, who was wonderful!) I travel with my service dog and missed the no dogs beyond this point sign (service dogs are typically exempted and mine was wearing his vest). When I arrived at the bar to order a drink, the bartender scowled and would not come forward to serve me. He stayed at the back, forcing me to approach. When I did, he gruffly told me no dogs were allowed on this side. It was an honest mistake on my part but it made for an awkward start to my stay. Later, when I was watching the band from a distance, the waitress walked past me multiple times, never stopped or made eye contact and I never did end up getting served that evening so I ended up leaving the hotel and drove home. Again, hotel staff awesome. Sandbar staff not so much. Probably fine if you don't have a dog, even a service animal.
