Great place loved the view

The host was amazing. We arrived late and he stayed until we got there!!! He was outstanding!!!

The amenities seemed great and I think it would be a great place if you have kids, the grounds look to be a converted kid's camp. The local area and Southport island were very nice. The front desk staff seemed a bit frazzled and not so happy to deal with anyone. Breakfast was meh. Bathrooms as well as the room furnishings were old and out of date. Checkout time is at 10 (early) and someone came by and knocked on the door about 9:15am and was "just checking"? Room was not worth the price and honestly I would not stay here again.

We love Ocean Gate! Recent improvements are amazing! The property is secluded and relaxing. We will be back again soon. A true Maine experience!

Overall, we had a great relaxing stay. We traveled over 4th of July weekend and this place was great to get away from the hectic areas in other towns. we loved the pool and used it everyday. Breakfast was wonderful with many choices for everyone in the party;. The A/C unit was loud and I would recommend it be replaced soon.

It was a cozy beautiful place. We really enjoyed staying there. Breakfast was delicious and the view was perfect.

Great location, well tended, breakfast a little weak

It was a beautiful place to stay. The fire pits by the water with the supplied smores kits were 10/10. Loved the deck outside of our room. Check in time according to the website is 4pm. We arrived at 4:30 and our room wasn’t ready yet. The young girl at the front desk told me I could sit and wait for it to be ready. Maybe 15 minutes later she said it would be ready in five minutes. I approached the desk and asked if I was all set to drive down to the room because I wasn’t sure what to do? She kind of reluctantly handed over paperwork for me to sign and still didn’t give me the key. So I asked if I could have the key and drive down there. She said she didn’t want me intruding on the person cleaning the room. I said I’d wait the extra five minutes (even though it had already been past that). When I got to the room the person cleaning was leaving and there were a couple things you could tell were definitely rushed. Including a couple old hair ties on the floor that weren’t picked up. That whole experience was off putting.

Absolutely lovely location. Great activity options. Room was comfortable. Bathrooms need exhaust fans. We stayed Thursday evening through Saturday morning. Breakfast was fine Friday, it was a bit mis-managed Saturday morning making guests wait for food and even silverware.

Fabulous stay. Friendly / helpful staff, comfortable / clean rooms, yummy breakfast, and excellent amenities. Kayaking was TREMENDOUS with seals, loons, bald eagles, and more. Will return next year!
