River Hotel of Southport

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. Location was perfect to downtown Southport, ferry and local beaches. I’m just not a fan of in the style of air conditioning but it wouldn’t prevent us from coming back.

The balcony had a beautiful view of the river. The pool area nice and clean, we will stay again. The hotel was in a good location, close to everything that we wanted to do while there.

Always a pleasure to stay at the River. Great location, within walking distance to Southports center. In fact we ate at the Frying Pan and then walked back to the hotel. About .6 tenths of a mile.

Great hotel. You can easily walk into town. I would definitely stay there again.

Area where cars park was filthy. Air conditioning was faulty and the room stayed damp out entire time there for 3 days. Bathroom stayed Hot due to water heater being there and turned up too high. Water flow Very weak at shower, windows and glass door very dirty. Told front office shortly after I checked in that the over sink/ cook top was burned out. Promised for 3 days to fix it but Never did. Won't go back ever

Great location. Beautiful view of Cape Fear River. Outdoor pool. Very clean and spacious room. Beds comfortable. Easy parking.

I do have two complaints. 1-Door to the balcony was broken. 2- Property next door should be cleaned out. Something that looked like an old couch and something that looked like an old trailer. We would definitely come again. Bob Morrison

Blinds allow too much ambient light in at night, I could have read a book in the light from outside. Mattress way too soft. Shower shampoo was in a tiny little bottle and small face towel was very worn.

It was a home away from home. Parking was great, kitchen had everything including a full size kitchen. The pool was right on the ocean, perfect place to stay

Super cute room, clean. Property was nice - only comment is we had a waterfront room on the first floor and shrubbery was very high and only allowed a partial waterfront view. Needs to be cut back.

2 night stay in beautiful Southport, this is the place to stay, Studio was spotless, modern, clean with a big bathroom and stand up shower , kichenette with a stand up refrigerator with ice maker , microwave and coffee maker , elevator accessible . The balcony was a nice addition to sit out on and relax after the days activities. Situated a 15 minute walk to the town center and restaurants and a 3 minute drive to the Bald Island Ferry Terminal. Pool and beach area were very nice to come .Ample parking at all times . Will stay again if returning .

We could not have been more pleased with our stay at this hotel. The location was was excellent. Very close to downtown, but not in the heart of it so there was never an issue with noise or traffic or people on the sidewalk. Just a five minute drive from the ferry through a more residential area. Our room had a little balcony with a view of the Cape fear river off to the side and the view in front was treetops. Beautiful. Room was very clean and the beds were ultra comfortable. The staff in the office were very helpful. There is plenty of parking and the kitchen amenities were an absolute plus that we did not expect. I highly recommend this hotel.

The office was supposed to close at 8pm but Terry stayed a little extra to check in their last guest…me! Thank you for that!!! This Inn is lovely, the rooms surprisingly roomy and well appointed. Small balcony but it had 2 chairs and a water view. Wished I could have stayed longer.

Love the property we always have a blast when we come to Southport and stay at the river hotel. The new Pier was such a nice touch for fishing! Our go to every time never disappointed and staff is always welcoming and Friendly!
