Days Inn by Wyndham Springfield

This property was very outdated too much carpet that looked like it wasn’t maintained. There were bugs in the room and it wasn’t clear if it was a roach or not, but it favored more of a roach I killed it so fast and when I told them they needed to exterminate they frowned at me as if I offended them. I didn’t ask for a refund I just told them they need to do better. The check-in was quick but the guy was not very inviting to be at the front desk.

Price. Room colors and pictures. Comfortable beds. Upon arrival, the room tv did not work. The smoke detector was chirping. We reported it and were assigned to a different room. The new room smelled strongly of smoke, and when reported, I was told it was a smoke-free room. The room above us was extremely noisy with continuous footwork or thumping. When we looked out the window, there was a small fishing boat parked with an extension cord running up to the 2nd floor window. We reported it to the young man on duty. He told us he would take care of it and went outside to inspect the situation and said he took care of it. However, the cord remained, and the noise above continued until late at night. The strong smoke smell continued and even got stronger throughout the night. We did not sleep very well. The day manager was kind but laughed at the situation. The breakfast was a little disappointing. We were disappointed. We have stayed in numerous hotels and have never had this problem. Not up to Wyndham standards.

I have been sick ever since we stayed there. Check in was a nightmare, ever question I had about the room was ok, for an up charge…. Ending up paying 150.00 more hoping to have a somewhat better room. Don’t waste your time or money! I won’t ever again.

Location was OK. The pool looked nice and clean. The blow dryer did not work. The sheet kept coming off of the bed. It smelled like mildew. The man there was not friendly.

Although there weren’t any problems with my stay, the property is pretty run down, the room had damage that was recently (poorly) repaired, and the included breakfast was the bare minimum. Staff was not particularly friendly. If need a place to sleep along the highway that isn’t your car then I guess this hotel is an upgrade.

The entire building smelled musty and when attempting to use the pool around 11am we were told it wouldn’t be open until 3 pm due to chlorine. I’m not sure why you wouldn’t chlorinate during the closed pool hours so guests can use the pool during the open pool hours.

The pool was filthy and I mean, filthy, a clump of hair stuck to the ladder.You could not see the bottom at 3 feet.The water was cloudy.And I swear I saw black mold all over the bottom.

I do not recommend this location. We checked in around 5:00 p.m., and the first room had stained bed sheets. We requested clean sheets, but instead were moved to another room. Unfortunately, the second room had the same problem. The sheets were stained, and the mattress appeared extremely old and heavily worn. I spoke with the front desk employee, who came upstairs and saw the sheets himself. My wife asked for clean sheets, but he said no one was available to change them and told us, “It is what it is.” We found this extremely unprofessional and unacceptable customer service. My wife asked if the sheets were being washed. He said yes, so she asked him to bring us clean sheets and we would change them ourselves. He watched my wife change the sheets and then offered to refund our money if we were unhappy. Unfortunately, the Illinois State Fair was taking place that weekend, and most hotels were booked. Another room would have cost approximately $275–$400 per night, so we stayed only because we needed somewhere to sleep. There were additional issues, including a dirty bathtub and no conditioner. We confirmed with housekeeping that they are only provided shampoo. The breakfast was also disappointing and did not meet our expectations. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we have had. I would never stay at this Days Inn again and cannot recommend it to anyone. We plan to contact the corporate office and hope they take these cleanliness and customer-service concerns

Nice staff

My expectations for this booking were not high based on the reviews however it has “Wyndham” in the name so HOW BAD could it be? BAD. I expected clean towels (asked twice and each set was stained. It was if I was the inconvenience. Not even an apology.) We also just wanted a bed without hair left on the pillows which 3 of our 5 “pillows” were also stained and the covers. Hair also in the bathroom. Our advertised “Non-Smoking” room did not smell as such but I went and got a neutralizer from the Dollar General. Again, they didn’t seem to care & we just wanted to make it through as they were fully booked and most of the city seemed to be, we decided to push through as it was nonrefundable and I can deal with most things. We were in town specifically for an event that we could not be late for so we made peace with the extreme shortcomings and left. When we returned after midnight, we were disheartened to see their back entry, “key card required”was completely open and useless. The second floor then smelled like the inside of a VFW hall from the continued smoking. Staff/owners are certainly aware of this as they can smell and this was not a 1-time thing. There was no one at the desk at that time for us to complain to and it was already the next day. At this point, it was clear they didn’t care about any1 paying to stay there. Their listing is full of false advertisements that need to be addressed. Expedia tried to get me a refund, but the hotel declined. Photos taken for proof.
