Wingate by Wyndham Steubenville

The hotel itself was nice. Unfortunately, while we were there, EVERYTHING was either broken or under construction. The swimming pool is being renovated. It's been under construction for a year. The workout facility is ALSO under construction. The ice machine is GONE! You have to go to the front desk to ask for ice. They were working on the roof when we were staying there so there was constant workers in the parking lot. Now, here is the POSITIVES. The workers were AWESOME! They can't control what is happening to their building. The front desk would give us cold bottled water whenever we asked. That was nice. The breakfast was really good. The lady working there was GREAT! She was always making sure to keep all of the items filled up. The eggs, sausage, potatoes and yogurt was really good. You get to have FRESH coffee 24/7. That coffee machine was Sweet! We would definitely go back again. However, we will be sure to call ahead of time to see if the pool and the workout room is available.

Breakfast was good. Breakfast was good. Was slightly disappointed that when scheduling for a hotel it doesn’t mention anything about “under construction”. Or the fact that you are coming with softball girls and they were excited to swim. Again nope! The pool was also under renovation. Our tournament got rained out for Saturday so we were stuck with nothing to do, we could have swam. Also upset that the ice machine was “broke”? Um, not even any on the floors anymore. So are they really broke? Front desk has to fill up your bucket. They didn’t seem happy when I told them I have coolers to fill up for a tournament.

A great choice if you have pets. The staff was wonderful!

Centrally located. Convenient to everything in Steubenville. Room was clean. We especially appreciated how good the accessible shower was in our room.

Couldn't sleep because the room beside me was noisy. Its not hotel fault but they were very noisy.

The property around the hotel is not great and the outside of the hotel is pretty run down. I think the price is much too high for the area.

There were noises coming from the room upstairs that kept us awake at night, and the headboard had a tear in the fabric. The toilet seat was loose. Overall condition of the room was poor.

I liked the location,the breakfast was nice. Our room was dirty, the carpet was falling apart, there was a huge stain on the wall, the wall paper was even separating in some areas,the ice bucket lid didn't fit at all...however it didn't matter because there isn't ice available amy whete...machine wasn't even there. The body wash in the shower was completely empty. The plug on the nightstand was broken. The headbaords were scratched like a cat would do. The ac until looked unfinished. I took pictures because I couldn't even believe how horrible it was. Definitely not the Wyndham quality we were accustomed to.

Location was great & it was more comfortable than the dorms at the university. Cleanliness was quite questionable. Example: nightstand in the room looked like it hadn’t been properly wiped clean in months. There was questionable substance dried on the wallpaper behind the nightstand. Just obvious that the cleaning staff does the absolute bare minimum. The breakfast had great options - pancakes, eggs, sausage, bagels, cereal - but the shelf life of things was questionable. Example - pancakes were simple pre-cooked and heated, kept in a steamer - but edges were hard as a rock. Peanut was dry & sticky - like it gets when it’s old. Plastic silverware was a joke. Had to pick up our syrupy pancakes and eat by hand - luckily they were small. Property has great potential - just up the game on cleanliness & quality. Those don’t cost a thing but elbow grease & attention to detail.

Overall not a terrible hotel. They are under renovations the rooms being used could be cleaner especially since we were one of maybe 10 others in the hotel. There was so much dirt and someone’s clothing item behind the bed, tv screen had drip marks on it as well as the mirror. We were def in an outdated room. The staff was friendly. Breakfast the first morning was great the second morning not so much.

Location This place is a dump!!! It was dirty, under construction that looked years old!!! Close it down, do it right and then re-open! For $136 this was a waste and dump
