Water Street Inn

Room was not as clean as I would expect.

The WSI is a bit tired and without some critical amenities - USB ports, wake up call services and room darkening shades. It’s a functional place to “flop” for a few nights but don’t expect much more than that.

The hotel itself was well maintained on the outside and the appearance when you walk in is very nice. I feel like my room was back in an older part of the building where nothing was updated. The door wouldn't shut all the way on its own so it didnt lock unless you pulled it shut... I guess I had higher expectations from what I saw from pictures online. Beautiful building in a grat location tho.

Great location. Located near other restaurants and bars. Very clean, comfortable bed would stay there again.

Room was nice and clean. Staff was very helpful! Charles restaurant was really good! We had dinner at Papa’s rooftop and we were not impressed. Food and service were not very good. The view from our room was amazing!

You will notice in the pictures on the website there are 5 rooms that look pretty modern and 5 that are more vintage. We stayed in one of the St. Croix suites (one of the vintage ones and not the one that is pictured on the website). It was clean, but interesting... the hot tub in the room (which we did not use) is right on the carpet, which seemed odd to us. The air conditioner is in the main room, so the bedroom got a bit warm at night. The view of the river is amazing. The room could use a larger table for eating, a refrigerator, ice bucket, and a dresser. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The lobby was clean and welcoming. I would stay here again, but maybe in one of the more modern rooms. The vintage rooms gives a little bit of "The Shining" vibes. lol

You have to climb into a hot tub to use the shower and there aren't any hold bars, so as senior citizens, it was challenging. We had plans for most of the day, so we still had a great time in Stillwater.

I don’t think this was worth the price tag. Very overpriced for the quality. I’ve never spent this much on a hotel & was disappointed in the room.

Excellent location in Stillwater The room had several minor maintenance and cleanliness issues (ripped furniture, broken bathroom tile, dirty bathroom towel), which we were initially willing to overlook due to the hotel's great location. Upon returning from dinner just before 9pm, we discovered that our room was located directly above a wedding reception. The bass and music were so intense that the room's light fixtures, wall art, and clothes hangers were actively vibrating and buzzing. A room directly above a loud reception venue, which should normally be held as part of the wedding block, should not have been assigned to outside guests. At the very least, the potential for extreme, disruptive noise should have been disclosed to us at booking or check-in. We requested a room change which could not be accommodated. We were forced to pack our bags and check out, incurring the unexpected expense of booking another hotel. Management has not been responsive to email or refund request.

I was leery to book at this hotel because of the reviews but thought we would take a chance because of it being on the St. Croix River. Don't chance it. The bed was gross...there was what looked dried blood that didn't wash out and hair all over the sheets on the bed. When we called down to reception they brought up new sheets that were the wrong size for the bed and they said they couldn't change the sheets and left it up to us. There was no help in remedying the situation. No alternative room was offered. The room in general was not clean. We ended up not staying he night and left. I called and left a message to talk to the manager this morning and waiting for a call back.

The staff were very professional. The hotel was well-kept. My partner and I came for our two year anniversary. The hotel was perfect! The location, next to the water and restaurants accommodated a perfect experience! I would come here again.

It was quite clean ,although the scent from cleaning formulas was a bit over powering . The location is excellent , Close to numerous coffee shops ,restaurants ,and shops as well as the St Croix river. and historical lift bridge. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Charming boutique hotel on the water.

The hotel is over a hundred years old so quess what, it will be a bit eclectic. If you like modern and shiny do not go there. It’s pretty funky but we really liked exploring the hotel and reading the history. Our room was on the street side but spacious. The bed was comfortable. Yes there is noise but it quieted down after 10pm. Probably some of the common areas and mostly nooks and crannies could have been cleaned up and staged better.

I enjoyed a very comfortable stay at the Water Street Inn. The hotel accommodated my request for a disability room with a walk-in shower. This was very helpful for my personal safety and I appreciated their hospitality. My room also had a nice view of the St. Croix river. The restaurant staff members: Chrissy, Deb, Gianna and John were always gracious and accommodating with my menu requests. After a few days the staff at Charlie's were like family. The outside terrace has wonderful view of the river all day long to enjoy your dining experiences. I recommend the Water Street Inn.

Great location, but that is it, everything else was terrible. This was one of the grossest and most expensive hotels I’ve ever stayed in. I had to wear shoes in the room at all times because the carpet felt wet and the bathroom floor felt slimey. The room smelled musty and the tub was beyond gross. Felt like if I showered here I would leave feeling dirtier than going in. The rollaway bed had mysterious stains. They just lobbed it in the room between nights and didn’t bother to make the bed or freshen up. The night manager was very rude and the staff seemed confused and miserable with their jobs. Highlight of the room was the very weird picture on the wall of a little girl with a bunch of cows.

Was everything we hoped for. We loved the balcony river view with the raised bridge in the background. Has been upgraded very nicely. The only minor issue was no microwave in the room. Though they did have one on the first floor. Would stay there again
