Older hotel but well maintained and clean. Friendly staff and beautiful view
-
Toilet and tub were dirty. Bed was comfort
-
Lots of parking available and the front desk staff was very helpful. Bathroom could have been cleaner.
-
We would recommend to anyone who wants to be right on Lake Superior with beautiful views and a fabulous staff.

The property location is the saving cool factor being on the island and being a marina. The hotel was in need of a deep clean and the rooms need a smell cleanse more than the air freshener in the AC could do. We were a last minute booking and just needed a place to crash. This did the trick.
-
We love the location! Beautiful area on Lake Superior. They need to do some updating & repairs though.
-
Our room itself was a problem. The room had not been cleaned. The bathroom was awful. Sheets were dirty. The clean staff finally filled the shower caddies and cleaned at the end of our two night stay. We will stay here again, but will take a hard look at the room first, before committing to it.

Rooms were not very clean. The bathroom was hot, musty and not very clean. Beds not comfortable. We slept on top of the covers in blankets and pillowcases brought from home. Furniture old and broken. Microwave leaning. Dust in the bathroom vent. Someone's dirty socks behind the bed (a sign the room wasn't cleaned.) I took someone else's recommendations but never will I stay here again. The outside view was real nice. There was a lot of things to do outside.

We loved the location by the lake and the common spaces were nice. The room we stayed in was dated and did not look like it had been cleaned in some time. There was still hair in the shower from the last guest, the bathroom was in need of cleaning and updating, and my child found a pocket knife under the bed. They also tacked on an extra $25.00 charge. Not impressed.

I like the water in front and back of the resort.

Location makes up for the dated property. Overall was clean, just a bit dated. The Location is 10 out of 10! Enjoy the hotel bar patio, and waking paths in the area.

Rooms are dated and dirty , walked In and walked right out . had to switch rooms because of other people’s hair on bed, floor and shower, Room smelled a funky smell , Mini ridge and freezer was dirty . Front desk switched us to a Second room that wasn’t much better . Bedding had yellowing spots . Dust and crumbs around trim was of floors . noticed it around night stands . Actually moved a night stand and found dust bunny’s , beer cap and someone else’s hair clip from god knows how long ago , that’s next to were I sleep … gross . For $200 plus a night never again . Good thing I had my own bedding with . Definitely wasn’t an easy sleep in this place .

We stayed at the hotel many times in the 1990’s. Literally looks exactly the same. They are in desperate need of room renovations. We did have a nice stay. The staff is very friendly. Go find the bartender, Zaric , he’s super.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom. One of the bed was really beaten up. A lot of dents. The bathtub had hair around the drain. Bathroom floor urgently needs a good scrubbing. Because the hotel is around water, I was hoping the hotel was in good condition. I read previous reviews about the unclean conditions of the rooms and management replied apologizing, so I was hoping management took action. It is OK for a 2-star hotel to be outdated, but that does mean it’s OK to not take care of it and keep it dirty.
-
In addition to the rundown condition and the uncleanliness of the place, they don't even furnish fresh towels everyday. The beds are not changed for a week. I definitely would not recommend anybody wasting their money on a stay at Barkers Inn.

Great stay again. Only one night but loved it
-
My stay went well and I enjoyed the property. One thing I had a problem with was the doors would not open with my room key; very frustrating! I enjoyed my room and made some new friends!
-
Great view, hotel was clean, staff was nice, hotel had a restaurant, bar and pool. Our room did have a small coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. The room was nothing special, could have been a little updated.
-
Great location, but the room smelled like 1994, outdated inside and out. Personally not worth what they are charging for the room. Staff at the desk was friendly… the smell of the room gave me a headache, just seemed it use to be a great hotel that never updated.

We were there only one night, but had a wonderful time. The food was excellent.
