The lobby of this hotel is absolutely beautiful and spacious, giving off cozy Spanish villa vibes complete with a fountain, arcade, restaurant, pool area and a lot of seating. Unfortunately, the rest of the property hasn't caught up to that first impression. The hotel is very outdated and in desperate need of repairs. During our stay, the guest elevators were completely broken down, forcing us to use a very sketchy staff elevator. To make things more interesting, the hallways gave off serious The Shining vibes. On top of that, the carpeted hallways were in a serious need of shampooing. On the positive side, our room was clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. However, the bathroom was incredibly old, and both the toilet and bathtub were sitting shockingly low to the ground. It has great potential and a stunning entrance, but the guest floors need some serious love.

The property was great and had lots of character. The indoor courtyard was awesome. The continental breakfast held in the courtyard was wonderful. The room was clean and the water pressure was perfect. 10 out of 10 would stay there again.

Tv remote didn’t work asked for maintenance to fix it for 2 days straight never did might as well book a cheap hotel to where you can atleast watch World Cup games on

staff saw my mobility scooter and found a first floor room for me. Hot tub was great, breakfast was also great.

The lobby seemed nice. The rooms were old, with broken items. The only working elevator, the north tower, felt like it would breakdown while in use. None of the main tower elevators worked and haven't in a long time. The energency stair were still bear concrete walls, so never finished. The restaurant has been closed since the pandemic. It is run down and lacks maintenance and repair. It hasn't been updated and cleaned since it opened in 1965. The staff acted surprised that things were in bad shape.

Nothing. Employee at front desk was a nightmare and the establishment was gross. Not clean, musty and AC didn’t work.
-
Clean I had to switch rooms four times because air didn’t work in the room and hot water did not work
-
Good location, great staff, good breakfast Seems in need of repairs

All was good. I would recommend others to stag. All good

It was fun to walk through because of the villa look but was a bit of a long walk from the front all the way to the back. Only one working elevator for so many floors was inconvenient but not a big deal for us. The breakfast was great and had friendly staff.

These breakfast was a surprise. We wasn't expecting it to be so good, it was delicious. The hot tub was hot but the jets didn't work very well if at all. The pool was more like a wade pool it wasn't big nor deep at all but clean. The room was clean and the bed was so comfy we actually woke up and either one of us were hurting it was great. Overall it was a good stay and we would stay there again.

This hotel was like stepping into the past! It at one time was VERY GRAND and currently is now located in a very depressed area of Topeka. The State Capitol! It was very sad and depressing to see the current situation of this hotel. The breakfast buffet in the morning inside the atrium was lovely and attended by staff. No problems encountered except sadness for the current condition of this area likely due to economics.

The staff was very attentive The TV did not work. The room was way way way from the desk and elevator. Had to take a long hike to get to the room
-
Comfortable bed, good location, friendly staff. The main elevators were out of order so we had to use one that was far from the lobby.

It looks like it used to be a very nice hotel, but now it’s a bit frayed around the edges. Not terrible, but not top-notch anymore.
-
Our first room had gnats or fruit flies when we arrived (we didn’t not have any food with us). The phone and clock didn’t work. Staff was very kind and moved us, but the second room’s AC was broken. Again, staff was very nice and moved us. The final room was ok. The bathroom ceiling had a giant rip in it though.

I was walking down a hallway and mentioned this hotel felt haunted to my daughter. . A door slowly opened by itself. When I walked past, I saw the room the door opened was filled floor to ceiling with chairs. A person couldn't have fit inside to open the door. The door also opened slowly, like a person was doing it. The handle needed to be turned and then pulled outwards to open. HAUNTED.

This hotel is very convenient for downtown Topeka and is walking distance to the capitol. The free breakfast was good. My room was clean. However, the hotel is not in the best condition and the public areas including the hallways were run down and dirty. This hotel is in need of a major renovation.

The location, lobby and parking It was a little outdated
