Building is older but they are trying to keep up with all the needs. Our room (with 2 queens) was quiet, comfy bed and pillows, and updated nicely. Hot breakfast was great with lots of choices.
-
Really lovely building, lots of zones for relaxing and enjoying the fountain. Staff were very nice and the room was clean and comfortable. The only issue we had was apparently there are only two luggage carts for the entire building, and the path to the room was quite long.

It was obvious that this was once a very nice hotel, but it has not been kept up over the years. We only stayed one night, but if we had booked a longer stay, we would have looked for another place to spend the rest of our trip. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet was good, and all of the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, those positives were not enough to make up for the poor condition of the room.

The place needs a major renovation. The main elevators were not working, we use the staff/ loading elevator. The carpet needs some serious renovation, it’s on its last tread. The place , probably was top 30 years ago but was never renovated. The room itself was ok. Last day there Tha fire alarm went off at 6:3 am and everybody has to leave the room. We were at the 11 th floor and use the stairs to get to the lobby. Only a fair experience

I liked nothing.

Bathroom sink & tub were clogged and water built up. Took a few hours for the water to go down, it was pretty gross. Fridge & Microwave did not work. Tried switching outlets & still did not work. Fire alarm went off at 6am & woke everyone up. It was unfortunate. It was because someone burnt popcorn in one of the microwaves in the first floor.

I love this place

Didnt like the poor lighting in our room, bedside lamp not working, Fridge has molds and water, beddings/ bedsheet has stain and smell.Hallway to the elevator also has poor lighting,

Room was fine. Staff were friendly. There was road work which had many roads around hotel shut down & made going anywhere frustrating! Area was not the best…

Rooms need updated. The tiles in the shower needed better maintenance. Room was surface clean but did not smell clean. Bed sheets were clean but did not smell clean either. The drapes were drawn and made it pitch black when I entered the room which did not feel very inviting.

Great location and beautiful inside.

Hotel is in need of an update.

Friendly helpful staff Easy access to room much appreciated as I need a cane and can't walk long distances. The room smelled so clean..we were close to the pool and enjoyed the sound of the water and kids playing in the pool.. The free breakfast was delicious, good coffee and lots of choices to choose from..we enjoyed the atmosphere and all the different areas..especially the stairs going down to lower level. This was our 2nd time staying there. We will be back if we have to be in Topeka overnight again..

Wish they had more carts to bring your luggage to your room it was a long walk since so many elevators weren’t working the room for Ice on the 7th floor needed a good cleaning the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good needed more variety since we were there 3 days it was the same every morning.

The hotel has just stopped trying. It’s as though no maintenance/updating or deep cleaning has been done in quite some time. The staff worked hard and were so nice, but they seemed understaffed with amount of guests there for a convention, and it is a convention center.

The first word that comes to mind is "EW". Walking in the lobby has a funky smell, like the pool water is attempting to mask an odor. I loved the main lobby, it was beautiful but dang did that smell ruin it. Overall, the gut feeling I got here was NOT it. I checked out my room and the smell was similar to a grandparents house but they smoke a pack a day inside. The area was NOT it either. I should have looked into the area better because as a solo traveler I did NOT feel safe. I went to get dinner to take back to the hotel and just opted to leave instead. I had about 11 hours left of my drive home (mind you it was already 9pm and I had been on the road since 11am) and picked continuing my drive over staying in this place. The staff at the desk was nice tho.

Staff was helpful and friendly.

When you enter the lobby of the hotel, it’s beautiful and well kept. Get past the lobby and we’ll…a whole different hotel. They told us to go down through the archways and take left to the elevators but they might be broke so go down further and there’s another elevator. Of course the elevator is broke and the second elevator appeared to be a 2 person type service elevator. They had no carts available at 11:30 pm to haul luggage up. 7th floor hall was dirty and walls banged up and smelled strongly of weed. Housekeeping was supposed to bring clean towels. They never did. Would not recommend this hotel. Very disappointed.

The room was quiet and the breakfast was very good.

One of the beds lacked a fitted sheet and there was only one washcloth and one hand towel in the bathroom for two guests. The windows had handprints and smudges. It was fine for the price.
