Holiday Inn & Suites Detroit - Troy by IHG

We paid extra for breakfast because we were told ahead of time we could eat with our sons who were leaving early for military come morning we were NOT allowed to eat with them and when it was actually time for breakfast it wasn't ready and we had to wait extra 30 min past posted time to eat. It was not what was written on menu boards. We were told we could swim past 10pm because our boys had to be in rooms at 10 but different staff were rude and told our family we weren't supposed to be in there. When we requested extra towels to swim we were given hand towels after having to ask several times and waiting hours. The toilet seat in our room was broken and not attached to toilet. Staff were rude and missing all the time. Couldn't find anyone at desk most of the time and they would come from room around corner after waiting long periods of time for someone. Trying to bring up concerns with staff we would get attitude or different answers from different staff. While waiting the extra 30 min past posted breakfast time for food to come out the kitchen staff stood in doorway pointing at us and rolling thier eyes clearly annoyed that we were waiting for food even though it was late and we had places to be. Overall staff were inattentive and unhelpful and some were just plain rude!! My card was charged extra at check in which no amount was even told to me when I checked in just ran the card for extra amount without any explanation.

Extremely nice staff from the front desk to the housekeepers. Definitely would stay there again. Breakfast was delicious.

Room was nice. Staff super friendly.

Location The hotel staff were rude, unfriendly, and unapproachable throughout my stay. They also told me they had not received my payment even though the money had already been processed through Booking.com, which made me feel that they were dishonest and untrustworthy.

Irritated breakfast was extra money. And really should have been free for the quality of the food. Very exspensive room for just a boring Wednesday.

There were a lot of guests but it was respectively quiet in the evening hrs. which was a plus after a long drive. I would visit again.

Stayed here after flying in and before a drive up state. Convenient location to the interstate, and lots of things around if needed. (Like Meijer which I miss so much since moving!) The hotel was SO clean and the room was updated and smelled really nice. The staff was also very nice, from the desk to the restaurant. Could have used some juice and milk for the little one at the buffet breakfast… they only had coffee and water out, and milk for the coffee. Will definitely stay here again if I’m in the area.

Mold in shower on a lot of the caulk. Shower floor was brown from dead skin cells/oil

The smell at the front entrance and desk was horrible at check in.

The main drawback was the administrative confusion. Key cards stopped working multiple times, missing towels took a while to get sorted, and a basic room booking turned into a complicated situation thanks to management oversight. The team was helpful in spirit, but clearly confused and slow to deliver timely assistance. It was an okay stay overall, but smoother front-desk service would go a long way.

This was my second stay at this hotel and I couldn’t be happier. I love the staff, room is clean and everything we need.

So far hands down, this was the best hotel I've stayed in. I've stayed at many other holiday inn. My room was clean and spacious.
