The Jackson

This property is beautiful, peaceful, friendly, welcoming and far enough away from the green for a noiseless stay. The wine, cheese and bites that start your evening are lovely and gives you the opportunity to meet other guests if you choose. Ms. Walton, the host, was friendly, helpful and warm. She made me feel right at home. A magnificent place to stay in Woodstock Vermont

Garden and grounds out back were very nice. Restaurant provided great dinner and breakfast.

The house is divided into separate areas and we were in the oldest part. The bed was comfortable, bathroom nice, amenities nice but wouldn’t book again because of the very narrow and steep stairs. My husband is 80, hauling luggage up those kind of stairs is dangerous. That would be the only reason not to return.

Very characterful property a little way out of Woodstock. Friendly staff, good to meet other guests at the complimentary wine and cheese event every evening. Room was small, bed comfortable but if the patio door was open there was a noisy aircon unit a couple of feet away. But the room was hot! So this was not ideal. Beautiful grounds but wouldn’t have wanted to sit outside the room as it was so noisy!

Love staying in this beautiful hotel had very comfy beds and made us feel like we were in the heart of New England

There was a small, soon rectified glitch at check-in, our room (28) was a little dusty, especially under the bed, and most concerning was the missing smoke alarm; naked wires where an alarm had once been installed was not comforting. That being said, if we return to the Woodstock area in the future, we would definitely want to stay again at The Jackson.

Also it’s about a mile outside town.

The inn and the grounds are beautifully maintained. The room was comfortable, and the restaurant on the premises was convenient but also had a great breakfast, well worth purchasing. The location was also great relative to downtown.

The building is historic. Staying in the King Suite felt like stepping back in time to the Victorian era, with modern amenities. The grounds were gorgeous. I was very pleased with the experience.

The bed was super comfortable, sheets were clean and crisp, robes were Frette and products smelled great. The property is gorgeous and Woodstock as a town is a delight.

Love this B&B - very well located, the food is amazing and the bedrooms are very comfy! Highly recommend!

Unfortunately I experienced some issues…My room was missing a fire alarm, the bathtub/ jacuzzi tub was not working, and the television would not work. I also had some trouble with the lock code process on the door. It felt a bit unsafe that the main building I was in was kept unlocked due to keypads on the doors. service from the restaurant would be a great addition!

I was billed through Expedia and billed directly on a 2nd credit card. The Jackson staff was not helpful in resolving their overbilling. It is still not resolved to my satisfaction.

The only two problems we encountered was that our bed was broken and our bathroom sink was clogged. If that gets fixed, whoever comes there should have a very nice day.

There was no breakfast and no wine and cheese. We stayed in a room that was maybe 9' x 11 with slanted celing and door frames. It looked more like a closet. This inn is not clean and tidy and has extremely small common areas. Everything, although the bed was comfortable. They might have antiques, but these owners are investors not innkeepers. There is nothing warm and cozy about this place and it really needs to be cleaned, screens, porches, windows. It gave us the creeps!

The rooms are lovely and comfortably furnished. The bed was comfortable. One of the "charms" of staying in a B&B type lodging is getting to meet your hosts. We went into town for dinner, so missed the complimentary wine and cheese offering. Other than that, all communication (check-in, questions and checkout) was entirely electronic and we did not see anyone throughout our one-night stay. That felt strange and impersonal to us, but perhaps our expectations were too high. I think we would have been happier in a more traditional hotel setting.

Very inpersonal. Checking/out all done online. No personal interaction. The house and toon was very nice, updated and clean.
