Announcing Engine’s Partnership with Navan: The Infrastructure Behind Modern Business Travel

Engine and Navan partnership announcement

Today, we're announcing a strategic partnership with Navan (NASDAQ: NAVN) that brings more flexible, intelligent infrastructure to even more business travelers. Navan will integrate Engine's travel technology, Omni, into its AI-powered business travel and expense platform, giving its customers more choices, greater flexibility, and simpler workflows. Omni is Engine's AI-native travel booking API, powered by the same technology, reliability, and speed that Engine is built on. It gives any platform the foundation to embed real-time search, availability, payments, and 24/7 traveler support directly into their own product, without building it from scratch.

"Managed travel has always been held back by outdated infrastructure, not its ambition,” said Elia Wallen, Founder and CEO, Engine. “Engine rebuilt that foundation with AI embedded throughout. Bringing that to a platform like Navan is how the whole category moves forward. The best travel experiences will be powered by intelligent infrastructure, and that's exactly what we've developed."

Building the Infrastructure Layer

Modern business travel runs on infrastructure that was never built for it - fragmented connectivity, rigid systems, and content that's hard to keep accurate. For a decade, Engine has been rebuilding that foundation from the ground up, with AI embedded throughout.

Omni is how we make that foundation available to others. It gives any platform the ability to embed Engine's connectivity, intelligent booking, payments, and flexibility directly into its own product, rather than building it from scratch.

With Navan, that infrastructure now powers one of the category's leading business travel and expense platforms.

What the Partnership Unlocks

Three sets of capabilities Engine is bringing to Navan customers:

  • Seamlessly connected technology: Engine’s intelligent infrastructure connects to properties, organizes information, and shows travelers accurate, up-to-date availability across chains, independent hotels, and specialized markets. The partnership advances Navan’s efforts to better serve travelers by providing more options including for group bookings, extended stays, and last-minute changes.
  • Greater flexibility when plans change: Engine’s embedded payments and fintech capabilities support more flexible cancellation, stay-changes, and the ability to shorten a stay after it has begun, subject to applicable terms.
  • Simpler group and project travel: Engine’s group technology supports team bookings, room blocks, longer stays, and workflows that allow organizations to reserve rooms before every traveler name is finalized.

What's Next

The first capabilities from our partnership with Navan will begin rolling out to customers this month, with additional features including group booking and self-service modifications launching in the coming months.

Building with Omni and now partnering with Navan are both part of the same strategy: building the infrastructure layer the future of travel will run on. Whether through APIs or partnerships with leading travel platforms, Engine is making its technology available wherever and however businesses need to manage travel.
