Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Aiken

Honestly the worst experience ever. I spent 1 night here, July 4th. I understand that this is a 2 start hotel & I did not expect anything more than a clean room to lay my head in. At check in, i was directed to room 306 only to discover that was not the right room. The front desk agent gave me the wrong room, it was supposed to be 222. How did that mistake happen?? Then what I got was a room that had a moldy smell, a mildew shower, and disturbances from housekeeping 2.5 hours before check out. I think i spent in total like 4 hours on the actual property before i left for my event, and i returned around 2:30/3am. Then, less than 6 hours after I checked out, I received a charge for $250 smoking fee? So I called immediately to question it because what? I was told that they found tobacco in the trash and the room smelled of smoke. That is impossible that the room could have smelled. One of my guests had dropped UN SMOKED tobacco and THEY CLEANED IT UP AND PUT IT IN THE TRASH! Am I not to have trash put in the trash can...? And there is no possible way it smelled of smoke in that room because nothing was smoked. My friends can be seen going OUTSIDE to smoke at every time. I asked to speak to a manager and was told to call back today. I also find it incredibly suspicious that I had housekeeping knocking on my door 2.5 hours BEFORE checkout time, and now the same housekeeping said my room smelled of smoke. i expect a call back and a refund of this absurd smoking free

The staff was professional and friendly. The room and lobby area were clean.

Breakfast is fine No daily cleaning. Late check in was somehow cancelled and took 20 minutes to rectify

I was in a rush to get ready to go out and meet friends for dinner and as I went to get ready and take a shower I discovered that I did not have any towels. There were face and hand towels but I didn't have any bath towels. It took 10+ minutes to get towels. When I went to shower I discovered a used hand towel hanging on the shower curtain rod which I assume was left by the previous tenant. While showering I ran out of liquid body wash. In addition, there was a bit of mold around the water line in the toilet bowl. I don't think it had been washed in a while. When I complained to the manager he said: "I will look into your complaints." I have stayed there before but I will never stay there again.

Hotel was pretty clean. Room was very clean. Breakfast was good. Check the hours if you’re going to eat breakfast. Closed at 9 and 9:30. I’m not a fan of cleaning the room on request. I think this should be listed on booking pages. If I’m paying $750 for four nights, they should bring new towels and empty trash at least.

I booked the hotel because I wanted to use the pool and they couldn't open it... I was very disappointed
