Holiday Inn Express Allentown North by IHG

Our stay at The Holiday Inn Express was what we expected. It was an easy check in and the room had clean sheets and a place to put our heads. There is an indoor pool, which we did not use…but, looked well taken of. Coffee and a quick complementary breakfast and we were on our way.

Great stay

Our stay was average. Staff was friendly. Rooms could be cleaner but when I let the manager know he was receptive to feedback. Breakfast was decent and a bonus if you are looking to save money.

Over the hotel and room were clean. The bathroom however was a little questionable. The tub was stained and gross and there was a huge whole that was poorly patched behind the toilet paper holder. The breakfast was excellent.

Room was very clean and well maintained and the perfect temperature (72 degrees) when we arrived. Breakfast was lovely. Nothing fancy, but definitely plenty. I didn't get to try out the pool but it looked very nice. Also the staff was super-friendly and helpful.

They need at least two washers and dryers both. They should also take card for payment method other than quarters, it's very hard to get change sometimes.

Stayed here because of the reviews saying that it was so clean. We got to the room late off the road. The linens were questionable and the shower was nasty. Dingy towels. The chaise in the room had so many stains. I was annoyed and didn't want to touch anything. I immediately called the front desk. They said they were sold out and would switch rooms in the morning. They would leave a note for the GM when he arrived. No one reached out to me in the morning. I had to go back to the front desk. I showed them the pics and he was very apologetic. They said he would get me a new room. He checked a couple time to see if I was ok. He said I would get points for my stay even though I booked 3rd party and he would give me extra(which as of today hasn't happened). They new room was cleaner. I'm not sure what cleaning procedures are for the bathroom but the new room has gunk in the corners of the caulking. They tried to fix it but if I have to go back in the area, I would not recommend going there. Also, on their site the breakfast had non pork options in the ad but both days no options for non pork eaters, couldn't utilize the breakfast before our track meet. Wouldn't recommend.

The carpeting could have been cleaner. We did not have enough time to use the pool or exercise room, but was pleased it was there. The breakfast did not look appetizing as most hotel breakfast are disappointing, so we opted out and went out for breakfast. The coffee however was wonderful!! The machine freshly ground each individual cup.
