Toilet would not flush every time it was used. Hit or miss. Asked the front desk for help and the desk attendant’s only advice was to try to flush it again. When I told her that would make it over flow, an employee that was socializing in the lobby said he would plunge it. When it happened again, they just gave us the plunger to deal with it. Safe did not work. When asked for help, employee came to look at it, he just said he didn’t have any knowledge on how to fix it. Then explained they fired their maintenance guy because “he didn’t do anything.” Did not have services advertised in booking. No parking available, when I arrived we had to pay $30 to park across the street. Also advertised complimentary breakfast, nothing was set out for guests in lobby. Requested an extra garbage bag in the am when checking out, attendant hesitated and told us he would give us one but not to tell anyone. Area did not seem safe as well. Most homeless I’ve ever seen in an area - openly smoking meth on the streets. Would not recommend this hotel. Why this hotel had good reviews is beyond me.

Nice well maintained property. Very friendly staff. Great location

With taxes, etc our room cost us over $400. We were definitely disappointed. Yes, the hotel is in a convenient location, close to restaurants and across from The Captain Cook (which we had reservations for the next night). We arrived from a very long day of travel and wanted a soda or bottled water… not one vending machine in the place. The beds were comfortable, the kitchenette was unnecessary, the curtains weren’t sun blocking. The gal at checkin was very nice.

Good location, large room with kichenette, very comfortable stay.

Across the street from Hotel Captain Cook. The property is a more affordable, safe, and convenient option for staying in downtown Anchorage.

Clean, convenient room with a kitchenette. Staff was helpful and efficient. Very good location for lots of activities.
-
super comfortable beds, huge room, very helpful staff aesthetics... not very attractive

The size of the room was spacious with a small kitchen They only have a few units with walk-in showers. Ours was a shower tub that didn’t have any handicap rails/handles. The hallway had a musty smell. No breakfast or food options. It was a very basic property without any curb appeal.

Parking was expensive ($30-$32) Our room was clean and nice. No breakfast but there was hot coffee. I thought $300 was high. I usually pay 135-150 for a property like this but I guess Anchorage is high in the summer.

Comfortable room with good food available in bar/restaurant.

We were told that because we were staying for long enough we could use the spa at hotel next door. We didn’t do this so don’t know how that would work. The room had only two paper coffee cups, and the paper cups had to be reused on our second day. The hotel was quite expensive. They could at least give you real coffee cups. The toiletries were a random collection of different brands of products. Room was a bit dated.

would like to see something about the parking but its not a deal breaker

Very clean and awesome location

The bed was comfy, the staff carried our bags four flights of stairs as the lift had broken. It had a strong cigarette and musty smell. It is very dated.

Breakfast room was not available to us - we just made coffee in room or went down the street to a cafe. Thought the staff could be a lot more helpful in letting you know where food places in close vicinity were. The answer you received was "up the street, next corner" no which way to go given. This would be more helpful. We also rang Reception regarding the dripping faucet over the bath. Was told the maintenance person would be up in 20 minutes to repair - this was on our first night in the property. Person did not appear. Rang again next day, but still no response. At time of checking out, nothing had been done. All we heard on both nights was water dripping into the bath.

I left before breakfast. The room was spacious but there was an overall musty smell. This was a corner suite with a window on each of 2 sides. Nevertheless, the room was semi-dark; not well lighted. More lighting. No musty smell.
