Reviews

The hotel overall was fine. We had dinner at Fletchers and the service was terrible and the timing in delivering the courses was awful.
-
The fletcher restaurant was great.
-
food, great service. Cubby's was a good addition for grab and go items. Front desk very helpful when we needed to get taxis.
-
Its location is great for walking around and safe as far as we experienced or can see Nothing

This hotel has it all! The location is perfect, gym with sauna and steam room was luxurious, and bars and restaurants exceptional. We stayed a couple of nights before our cruise out of Whittier. We rented e-bikes a few steps away and traveled Tony Knowles Coastal Trail to Kincaid park and back, since the trail starts right near the hotel. While the hotel was busy with travelers, I was impressed by the Pantry’s hostess’s ability to accurately time the wait for our table. She said 20 minutes and I wondered “actually 20” or “restaurant 20” since I’ve experienced 20 turn to 40 in other places. We set a timer and she called our name 30 seconds before it ended. We enjoyed drinks and lunch at Fletcher’s. The Buffalo Trace Old Fashioned was on point. All meals were well portioned and delicious. Clean, generously sized rooms. Kudos to the entire staff at Captain Cook’s -experienced and dialed in, taking care of everyone. Highly recommend!

Great location also on Anchorage. We had a huge suite and didn’t arrive until after midnight but front desk folks were super helpful.

Superb

The room I stayed in was very expensive, dark, and in need of updating. The light bulbs were mismatched; for example, over the vanity there were 6-8 lights but two or three were bright and the others were soft. The soaps and lotions were male oriented (they smelled like cologne). Alaska is beautiful, but it can be dark. To have all the furnishings old and dark, and then to have the lighting so dark was disappointing and a bit depressing. I understand the "old world" theme, but polish the brass, use furniture that coordinates with other pieces, and brighter lighting

Good location. Attentive staff. Nice painting all around giving a very good feeling about the place— like a museum. Hotel is dated. Toilets are very low— designed for short people. It seems it is designed only for cruise passengers. For $600 per night, this is not up to mark.

Clean room and friendly staff. All the restaurants were amazing with plenty of choices and downtown is walkable.
-
The hotel is very outdated, in need of a serious overhaul, tv did not worked, turns on and has a very loud volume that you can’t reduce or change channel.
