This place is an absolute dump. It smells like urine and is filthy. No one was staying there, and we cancelled our reservation after seeing and smelling the place. Avoid at all costs!

Not much to like except it is close to my family, which is why I booked it for my 3-night stay and the staff kindly apologized for the poor state of repairs and they also made the breakfast early to me on the last day. The wifi didn't work and they said they hoped to would be fixed, it was out all 3 days. the pool has been under repair since last year, The washer and dryer were broken so they couldn't wash our linens, and they could not move my room. I wanted to move rooms because I was next to the side door and on my first night smokers hung out talking loudly, all night long, I was awake at 3:00 am then 4:00 am they were still there talking and smoking and my ac brought the smoke onto my “non-smoking” room and all my clothes smells like smoke. They also propped the door open and when I reported that I was told, yes they do that so you don't get locked out! Crazy comment. I don't want anyone walking by to still in through the side door. The room door was hard to open and close and the person at the desk said they are all like that. For the entire 3-day stay, no-one ever came to make up my room.

Terrible/Not Acceptable: 1. Questionable stains everywhere. Sheets, carpet, walls, yuch. 2. Questionable odors and moldy smell everywhere, yuch. 3. No remote for the tv. Front desk man said "I don't know - I'll have to find one." He eventually did. If you wanted local channels other than DISH basic, such as Ashland local channels, it was an additional $7 charge (what??) 4. Staff was not friendly. They weren't mean or hateful, but definitely not friendly or helpful. 5. Bathroom sink shot water all over user. Had to learn how to turn it on slowly. 6. When I took a towel off the towel bar, the bar came with it - right off the wall. 7. The towels were very thin and cheap. 8. My wife felt it necessary to go to WalMart and buy a new set of sheets to put over the bed because of stains on the linens - you don't want to know. 9. Breakfast was terrible - very little. Lucky if the coffee canisters had anything in them. We went to Waffle House for breakfast. 10. Room was overall just dirty. 11. Pool closed during COVID years and has never reopened. 12. The soap and shampoo provided were so tiny it was laughable. NOTE: Unfortunately, this is typical of most of all the hotels in this area. I have to travel here once a year.

First my room was gave to someone else(they had this lady sign her name on my papers). I was told at least 14 people quit in 2 weeks. I couldn't check in for hours because they had to "clean our rooms) nasty floors, hallway too! All kinds of stuff on the floor (socks, super glue, beer caps. I was told by front desk lady that they had to spin the sheets out with a mop bucket and take wet laundry to holiday inn to dry. My family stayed in different room and again no towels or bed cover, the guy literally reached down and picked up blanket off the floor in the laundry room and gave to them and said it was clean! Breakfast was ridiculous! The staff dressed like they just got out of bed! Drugs are a big issue there! The front desk lady said that she turned away 2 different contractors telling them that Days Inn by Wyndham won't be paying them. She said she had to take her own money to buy things for hotel and she showed the receipts. I am a rewards member and I've stayed many places and this place is ran and looks like a run down motel!

Not a very clean place sheets smelled funny did not sleep well

Disappointed in the place. First room we got the air was not working. Got us into another room. Air was great. Shower had very little water pressure. Felt like a bubbler system not a shower. We could not get clean towels the 3 days we were there. That's unacceptable!! Decided to cancel our next days inn stay. This is the 2nd time we felt the hotel does not meet minimum standards.

Great staff and accommodating to my stay

My husband and I visit this area often and always book this particular hotel. We’ve never had an issue until this last time. Someone was beating/hammering/jumping until 5:30 in the morning, right over our heads and I have pics of some pretty bad bites on my leg (that I will add) that look identical to bed bug bites. I’m not saying I’m 100% sure what the bites are, but I think we may have to make a change of stay for next trip.

We was in town for Rock the country and we was there Friday and Saturday. We had no towels or wash clothes. My friends had two more rooms with also no towels or wash clothes. The price was much more than normal price which i didnt mind but having to go out and buy towels and wash clothes was not something I would have done with a stay price of the weekend being $650.00

The A/C was off all day on a 94 degree day, we arrived at 6pm the room was unbearably hot. No WiFi, the Breakfast was pretty much useless. The chair in the room was grotesque. The bedsheet had visible stains. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed at another hotel in Big Stone Gap Virginia for $10 more a night and the difference was night and day. The sad part is most of the problems are self inflicted.

Had to move rooms immediately because of smell. Moldy wet rancid smell so strong it took your breath away. 2nd room wasn't bad at check in but had developed same smell by the time we came back to go to bed that evening. Only stayed 1 of 2 nights too gross

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

We got no towels and rags for the 2 nights we stayed during Rock the country. Paid $--- for the room and had to go purchase my own towels and rags so my family and I could get clean.

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

The hotel was sold out due to Rock the Country, and they charged three times the normal price, yet delivered conditions far below basic standards. I couldn’t even take a shower before the concert. Breakfast was equally unacceptable: slices of plain white and wheat bread, no butter, no toaster, no danishes, and no milk for cereal. Calling it “breakfast” is misleading. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I am actively seeking a refund. Days Inn needs to choose franchise owners far more carefully — this location is an embarrassment to the brand.

This property appears to be under renovation. Had I known that on hotels.com I would have not made a reservation. The room had about 6 months of insects on the window sill.(Lack of pride) It appeared they placed new carpet/baseboard(falling apart) but they did not repair the ceiling/paint plaster was falling off ceiling. Bathroom needs maintance for small items. Staff was friendly but irritated on issues. Breakfast bare bones. But you charge me full price, you don't let clients know of renovations. Do I get a refund?

Staff was friendly Close enough to town but far enough away for peace and quiet

Upon entering the Days Inn was a lady sitting covered up with a blanket in slippers who we shortly found out was a manager. The lady at the desk didn’t even ask for an ID, and was holding a dog. Then we were put on the 2nd floor and told there was no elevator to get our heavy suitcases up. We had to go up a scary set of stairs. The hallway smelled like stale smoke and our room was less than thrilling. There were visible stains all over the bedding, mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, and it was overall very filthy. I wish I would’ve spent an extra $60 and stayed elsewhere!

I was in town for 1 night and chose this hotel for its location. The front desk guy was nice, but gave me 2 sets of keys that didn't work for one room, then on the third try, he put me into a different room. The room needs work. I couldn't get the deadbolt to lock, no matter what I tried. It was already so late, I didn't ask to be moved, but probably should've. There was broken drywall under the window, LOTS of hair in the shower, and mold on the ceiling (as I was lying in bed, I noticed the water damage). I slept like a rock. I'm not sure if the bed was comfortable or if I was just that tired. This could be a nice property with some maintenance and staff retraining.

My wife and I stopped here on our way down to West Virginia late at night checked in found one room had bodily fluids all over the place like on the mattress cigarette burns on the comforters as for a new room the new room smelled like weed as well as the mattresses were stained with what looks like dried old blood. Please do not stay here.
