Microtel Inn by Wyndham Athens

The hallway to the room had loose boards under the carpet that dipped and wobbled as you walk. The room was clean, but we never had any hot water only lukewarm at best. Linens left for us were minimal, 2 towels and 2 washcloths. The breakfast was disgusting!

The hotel does have an elevator which was kind of a problem getting bags upstairs. The toilet in our room was not working properly and couldn't hold water in the tank. It made it annoying to flush many times after breaks to let it fill again. Breakfast is not robust but coffee was very good. We would stay there again if a better option was not available.

Very nasty, had stains on the beds and hallways smelt like weed and mildew, we ended up leaving and finding a different hotel would not recommend

There was a smell in the room that gave us a sinus infection. It smelt like incense or something. It was very strong

Hallways smell like weed, rooms smell like stale smoke. Hotel staff tried to enter our room at 7:15 in the morning while we were all sleeping without knocking asking us if we paid! How else did we get our room?! Would never stay there again.

Absolutely deplorable. There was mold and bugs in the bathroom, crusty yellowish substance on the bedding/mattress cover, and the room smelt like air freshener and cigarettes.

Great location if you’re in town to see the Dawgs play, the AC works and the shower water gets hot but that’s about it. The hotel is rundown and smells like stale cigarettes. My husband and I are not smokers so it was an uncomfortable 2-day stay. Our room and bedding could’ve used an extra cleaning. The walls are very thin so you can hear conversations out in the hallway and through the walls. The rates are cheap for the area so you definitely get what you pay for.

Everyone at the hotel was really nice. The king size bed we loved very comfortable. The hotel was very neat and clean. It has a continental breakfast delicious coffee, muffin fruit.

Room was clean, Staff was friendly, beautiful grounds, the microwave is in a common area but thats the only complaint

The property smelled like marijuana. When I got up to the 2nd floor there was a seating area with two couches. There was a man, whom appeared to be homeless, asleep on one of them. The bathroom floor was sticky and there was used balled up toilet paper on the floor.

TV didn't work they say they didn't have cable . There was no hot water to get a shower

Everything worked well, was super clean, comfortable, and fresh. The parking lot is large and doesn't have any tight, shady, or badly paved spots. Also, it's located close to shopping & dining but not slammed up next to any of it.

This isn't a bad place if you are staying for a night. For this to be located in Athens, they should gear towards families that are visiting and staying the night for the university. I didn't see any breakfast (which is fine, wouldn't have eaten anyway), there was mold in the ceiling if bathroom, the shampoo, conditioner, and lotion was a mix match so im assuming they get by eith what they can, and if you need help at the front desk, then you have to call someone. The room was not well lit and the electrical plugs in the work stations were not secured so when you pull your plug out, the entire socket comes with it. Definitely will not return. For the money, it explains why it was lesser than other hotels. Overall, the room felt dirty and the pillow had black stains on it.
