Make sure you check the shower. Shower had not been cleaned good and had to ask staff to replace shower curtain because it had visible mildew at the bottom 12 inches of the shower curtain.

The room was spacious and clean. The mattresses were very comfortable.

This motel was great for exactly what we needed!

The pictures on website are not current, the room was extremely small, no common area, no cable tv, door extremely hard open and close due to rot, refrigerator frozen solid. Owner didn’t care-only interested in the money. We checked in at 4:00pm and too late in the evening to find another place to stay. Checked out next morning around 9:00. Didn’t even stay 24hrs.😡Owner was rude and only stated we should have looked first.

My experience at the Sand Dollar was absolutely incredible 😌😌😌I was greeted with friendly front desk staff at check in and checkout.My stay was the best with great service and quick response from staff which made the days of rain that I had during my stay the best 😊😊😊 the room I stayed in was the economy multiple beds and kitchenette and was in very good condition👍👍 ac and beds were good. Parking was ok. Maybe having the beds lower about 3 to 4 inches and get some pads to put on the metal table and benches in the room to save the floor from getting scratched up. But overall I highly recommend the Sand Dollar to everyone. Short distances to just about everything.

First off, there's no beachside bar here, regardless of what AI says. But it is close to the beach and Fort Macon. The rooms have full sized fridges and range/ovens. It's cheap, and you can park a car there and it has a bedroom with a door. Don't steal the pillows, don't smoke inside, it'll be great.

When I travel for business I spend very little time in the room except for completing paperwork, eating and sleeping. This establishment meets my needs and the rates make my bosses happy. The bed is comfortable and shower is great. This is the fourth time I had stayed here and the location works for me. I have no complaints.

Clean,easy Check in

Since the room we had booked wasn’t available, we were bumped up to the apartment and the place is amazing. Spacious, almost 360° view, sunroom, terrace, 3 full bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen. The manager at the office was so kind and devoted to help us! We felt so welcomed! Location is great, you can walk 4-5 blocks to the beach access and avoid paying for parking slot. The mattresses and pillows are terrible. The master bed has its own gravity center and no matter how on the edge you lay down, you wake up sunken in the middle. It would’ve been nice to get a good rest after a long day at the beach.

Easy to get to the beach. The full-size refrigerator was nice. Could use better, sun shading in the bedroom.

Clean room - friendly staff, short walk to the beach.

It is a bit run down. The front room stays hot and the back room was cool so the air flow didn't reach the full unit. We booked for 4 people and only had towels for 3 but staff was nice and we got what we needed. I booked at the last minute for a quick one night getaway so it was a place to sleep for a low price so it served the purpose we needed. With the location, if they renovated they could really have a nice, money making property where people want to return.

Christina was great. She was very helpful and even made it convenient for me checking in a day early. Definitely would recommend this property!

Called the hotel after a friend left her rainbow flip flops and they said they had them and when we went to get them, said they haven't seen any rainbows. Like why lie when we just got off the phone!

The motel was infested with german cockroaches. We ended up asking for a refund and did not stay both nights. Do not recommend this place!

I arrived on the new site manager’s third day on the job. Her excitement was palpable throughout my stay. The property manager was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, from my pre-trip check-in forward. This property reminds me of Old Atlantic Beach, before the million-dollar rentals and greed-mongering became so prevalent. It ain’t fancy, but it’s good! The walk to the beach is manageable, and my room was CLEAN! Shout-out to the housekeeper, too. He does a great job. Keep this place busy, but save me a room for next season.
