Reviews

We had a fun girls night. Enjoyed the spa - the restaurant was wonderful and the view from our room was to die for! Staff was fantastic. It was a lovely stay! And good running area by the water in front of the hotel. They warn you about train noise (and we were right above it) and we were not disturbed in the least.

It was really nice.
-
Beautiful and unique property. Gorgeous room with a view of the bay. On site restaurant is fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Amazing hotel with incredible views and great staff

This is a unique property. The room was very spacious with a wonderful view of the bay. It seemed that there had been a remodeling. Where there had once been a refrigerator and microwave were now empty spaces and a locked courtesy refrigerator was installed instead. Despite the faact that the property was on the edge of the bay there were train tracks tucked bewtween the hotel and the bay pier. According to my wife the train passed every hour during the night. My perception was much less frequent. Which brings me to the difficulty of writing reviews. It tends to be that although my wife and I have shared more than 50 years of life together, we tend to disagree on almost everything. So any list of Pros & Cons that I write would be undone by her review. The area that we both agree is that the room was spacious with a great view. And we enjoyed our stay.

The room was clean, well maintained, the staff were exceptional. This is clearly a high end hotel. Sunday paper outside our door in the morning, very helpful with all requests. We arrived before check in but had a festival to attend prior to the check in time. They took our bags without issue and check in after the festival was a breeze. I could not give this above a 3 due to the fact that we paid an exceptionally high amount to stay here due to the demand in the area and our room location was very sub par. We paid for a partial bay view, the window was foggy as if it was washed on the exterior with dirty water. The view was pretty though. We were located on the bottom floor, directly above the dumpsters, recycling area and the entrance to the parking garage. We woke several times to cars coming and going and the garbage service coming to collect one of the mornings we were there. I just felt that for the price (over $500/night) it should have not been the worst room available.
-
When we asked the hotel staff to move our room, they refused. I even contacted the manager to request a partial refund due to the clear false advertising, but they were unhelpful and claimed the area was quiet after hours—which it absolutely was not. We paid $600 for this room and could have had a better stay anywhere else. Save your money.

Beautiful view & hotel!
-
The views were amazing, hotel was beautiful, dinner was great. I wish I was able to stay longer.
-
Comfort the beauty. The quiet even with the train! The bath tub I loved but a little hard to navigate
-
Had a wonderful time at the hotel and spa. A perfect, indulgent getaway.

This is the best place to stay in Bellingham, by far. The rooms themselves are spotless, spacious, and have nice views and huge bathtubs. The toiletries they provide are nice products and they smell great. The proximity to the downtown fairhaven area is also great because you can do a little walk around the boardwalk and over to the shops. Overall incredible experience, this was my second stay and I’m coming back anytime I have a reason to be in Bellingham for a night.

Amazing customer service and staff! A family member had a wedding in the area and hosted brunch at the Chrysalis so our party was pretty demanding - just purely with numbers in the middle of a random week. The staff was incredibly accommodating allowing us to both check in early and check out late (again probably because random middle of the week stays) but made it happen for us. They helped arrange breakfast room drop offs and vendor arrivals. The room was clean, and well stocked. The personalization was a nice touch and room service breakfast was very affordable and delicious! The hotel was also extremely pet friendly. It is on the pricier side - but I argue you get what you pay for because it was a great experience!

We love place and location.
-
The suite was beautiful and comfortable, plus the views! I believe bottled water should be complimentary. At least the first 2 bottles.
-
View, comfortable bed, elevator out of order part of the stay, unhoused person yelling and blowing whistle in park like area adjacent to property
-
Window seats with a view Vacuuming during our visit in the bar
-
Very nice property. Very friendly and helpful staff, loved our room.

It is always delightful to stay at the Chrysalis. The view is always special and every room we have stayed in features the view and giving you every opportunity to enjoy it in a peaceful way. The food is always good; the location is perfect for walking around and exploring; plenty of things to do around Fairhaven. If you have a car, driving through forested areas to the coastline; lovely. Spa treatments are first rate and relaxing. People ask us why we go to Bellingham/Fairview; staying at that Chrysalis is our reason.

The property has been very well maintained and the location is beautiful. We really enjoyed the deck overlooking the pier.
