Canopy by Hilton Washington DC Bethesda North

Room had a lot of hair and dust/dirt all over the bench and floor. We booked this hotel because it said we could use one of their foldout beds, since we have a family of 5 and only needed a quick place to sleep, limited hotels available. Told me on arrival that they would not allow the foldout bed in this room because it's a fire hazard. We did squeeze onto the beds, but I didn't appreciate having to learn the option wasn't an option at 2am arrival. No fridge, just a "cooling drawer" that had no controls and was warmer than the rest of the room. No real restaurant options for breakfast around. Website implied there was. 8am wakeup to drilling and hammering above. Custodial staff just wanted to make sure we meant the "Sleeping; Do not clean" door hanger, also. Bare bones hotel room; not worth $230 for 6 hours of stay. The checkout person did say that she was "super sorry" about the foldout bed and the noise things.

Everything was great and the stuff was amazing.

However, the parking situation was terrible and is something I wish I had known before booking. There is NO self-parking whatsoever. You're forced to use valet ($45 a day) , which is an additional cost and incredibly inconvenient if you plan on coming and going throughout the day. Every time you need your car, you're told to call about 10 minutes in advance, but that wasn't always the case. On one occasion, I waited over 30 minutes because the front desk apparently never notified the valet that I had requested my car. If you're someone who likes the flexibility of hopping in your car to grab coffee, explore the area, or make quick trips, this hotel's valet-only parking can be very frustrating. The hotel itself was excellent, but the mandatory valet parking was a major downside and would definitely make me think twice before staying here again.

Check-in staff was less than my usual expectations for my typical Hilton experience. Not very warm and welcoming. Hotel and rooms are cool. Hallways and property appeared less than clean (might be due to a Sunday check-in). Bartender at the bar was excellent!

The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Thank you for making five stay lovely for my family.
