Candlewood Suites Bloomington by IHG

We have gone here multiple times with our dogs. The staff remembered us and were so kind. They went out of their way so that we could get the same room each time so our dogs were familiar with the “scent” of the room. By the third time we visited they were very calm and relaxed. It made the stay so much better!

It was perfect for what we needed and a lot less than some of the other places in the area!

Not as clean as I would expect

We were told we would have access to an extra bed since our room had a king size bed. There were no extra beds when we checked-in. We had to figure out how to sleeps that night and then left. They were kind to refund us one night of our reservation.

Clean, comfortable, fully stocked kitchen, fully stocked restroom bed was amazing quiet safe will definitely go back

So the staff at 5:30am made so much noise with people across the hall from us that we didn't get sleep. I witnessed the people check in before we did with the guy named Jeff. Then I heard them say they weren't checked into the room, even though I watched them pay. I was told they even called the police saying they were squatting. I don't know if the employee made a mistake when entering their information, but to treat someone the way they did was not only unprofessional, but very wrong. I'm just warning anyone who stays here to be very careful because it appeared that the hotel was doing something fraudulent.

The room was so clean and everything you needed in the kitchen was available.it felt like a home.The staff was so helpful.

The hotel and room needed some serious updating. My husband and I traveled for many years and stayed in multiple different Candlewood Suites. The previous ones were upscale, nice, extremely clean, and well kept, but the one in Bloomington, IN was run down. Cracks in the chairs in the room, pool out of service, stains and hair on 2 out of the 4 pillows, the chair by the bed was disgusting looking, there was a pile of hair behind the bathroom door. I mean I can literally go on and on about our dislikes of this suite. Once hotels/suites start allowing anybody to live there they go down hill extremely fast. You can’t just let anybody in. I get they are pet ready which I like, but when we get woken up constantly throughout the night with someone’s dog barking like crazy it becomes a problem. I won’t recommend any Candlewood Suites to anybody again or maybe, it’s just the Bloomington location and people living there. It felt very uncomfortable and unsafe walking to my car with all kinds of people walking in and out and standing in front of the doors smoking. It almost looked like the bathroom ceiling had water damage at one time and they just had it painted over it. Not sure if you can tell in the uploaded picture.

Parking was good, but we didn’t realize there was no breakfast. That was our fault though, but still a disappointment. Room was great.

I would have rated it a 5 star, but there were little tiny ants in my room around the air conditioner.

Clean property, amazing price for value. The only negative thing was the pool was down for maintenance and my son was really upset. Otherwise, very pleased!
