Holiday Inn Blmgtn Arpt South - Mall Area by IHG

We specifically asked for a "quiet" room and were given a first-floor room whose only window faced the hotel atrium--where there was a swimming pool. Guests regularly used the pool long after its stated closing hours (10 p.m. on weeknights, 11 p.m. on weekends); there were people noisily enjoying the pool area at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday night/Sunday morning. During the day, it was impossible to open the curtains to get sunlight from the atrium (the only natural light source for the room) because of people walking around the pool area and looking in the room windows. The room itself, while clean and comfortable, smelled noticeably of chlorine; the hallways, meanwhile, were worn and unappealing. Staff were clearly overworked--they failed to inform us of hotel cleaning protocol on check-in (cleaning must be requested a day in advance), which resulted in an hours-long misunderstanding when we tried to have wet towels collected; on the other hand, we had so many CLEAN towels delivered (part of the misunderstanding) that we literally had nowhere to put them. The hotel is somewhat isolated, located directly beside the 35W freeway--aside from the onsite restaurant, nearby food options are scarce. With only one staffer usually at the front desk and side doors that people held open for anyone, we didn't feel particularly safe. In short, this was a noisy, frustrating, depressing stay; we counted ourselves lucky that we didn't have to spend much time in the hotel. Do better, Holiday Inn!

I liked that It was clean and well stocked with Dove products.

It was not explicitly clear that we had to specifically request to have the room serviced daily (if staying more than one night). We incorrectly assumed used towels would be replaced and beds made up. This is not the case! We had to go to the front desk to request fresh towels for the next day. There were also ongoing problems with both my partner and my access cards (not working). This occurred when we first reached the room, requiring a trip back to the front desk to reactivate the cards. This continued daily for the 3 days we stayed. Each time the front desk staff seemed unphased, unconcerned, with no care to the disadvantages placed on us in being locked out of our room, and having to go to front desk. Unfortunately, overall experience was not positive, and we will not be staying at this hotel again.

Clean accommodations and friendly staff

The staff was very helpful and professional. Had an issue with my bathroom sink drain and the repair was made very quickly. The evening desk person, Stewart, also came up to my room to address a problem with the power strip block and offered to go up on to the building to address a problem with receiving local TV channels. One issue that wasn't resolved in the four days I was there involved not receiving local TV channels. Their provider is Dish Network and didn't seem there was an urgency in getting it fixed which was a bit annoying. Having a Green Mill on premise was really nice. Had a couple breakfast buffets and one dinner. Food and service was good.

Very clean and well maintained property. Staff were present and responsive. Its a budget motel close to the interstate and airport, but safe, quiet, and clean. The pool has a cool, vintage vibe. Our bathtub wouldn't drain, and the maintenance person resolved the issue within 30 minutes. The pool is clean and quiet with plenty of clean towels provided. The breakfast is $9 per adult with kids eating for free, but it was a typical hotel buffet breakfast, not very impressive. Our room was pool view, so there was no natural light in our room and no overhead lighting. The result is a very dim room. The mattress and pillows are amazing and comfortable!

Was a good choice for a night after Mystic Lake concert, easy location and parking. Comfy beds!

You can listen all the noise of the pool until 11 pm.

Staff was helpful and kind, hotel and rooms clean. Close to airport for an early drop off. Was perfect for the price and what we needed. would stay again.

The property is clean. The staff was great. The only downside is the hot tub broke while we were there, one of the reasons I booked that particular hotel. However I know that's not in their control, it was her s bummer. The restaurant attached to the hotel, the green mill was great though.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the restaurant on sight had really good food. Pool was clean. I would highly recommend!

The Buffet breakfast was very good, lots of choices. Location was excellent for our needs. Parking was close, very well-lit parking lot, and best of all, FREE! Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again! Only one problem during our stay, we got locked out our room the last night of our stay due to a bad lock/handle. It was not a fault of the key card as the night manager was able to access the room after using actual master key. A minor inconvenience but definitely needs to be repaired before next guest. The only other inconvenience is the height of the toilet - the hotel definitely needs to upgrade toilets to newer style/heights. The one in room would have been very suitable for a young pre-school child and was very inconvenient for an adult.

A nice place to stay. Well located near a main freeway, but I didn't notice road noise even though I'm a light sleeper. The room was comfortable and clean, but pretty average aesthetically speaking. The elevators were not slow. Plenty of parking. No free breakfast but there is an attached restaurant where I think you can get a good breakfast for about $8. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and competent. We really enjoyed the pool with our grandson. The room could use a few more places to hang clothes/towels, but that's about the only "nit".
