The Blu Hotel Blue Ash Cincinnati, an Ascend Collection Hotel

The room was pretty clean. The coffee machine hardly works. The dryer for laundry works but the washer machine is out of order. I had to go to the nearest gas station for quarters because they didn’t have any. The bathroom in the room had a water leak so our floor was constantly wet. We had to call maintenance but maintenance never came. We got a partial refund because we paid cash and they didn’t have enough cash on hand to accommodate us so they offered us points that were supposed to pay for 2 nights but only covered one. Hotel is definitely run down a little and old. I would never come back.

If you’re just looking for a place to put your belongings down and leave, it’s fine. This property has potential but it needs a complete overhaul. The carpets were stained all over the hotel. The stairwell was uncomfortably hot and humid and it smelled like old liquor. Everything about this place was a touch icky. Not gross enough to not stay but if you like nice things, you won’t be happy. The pool water was an interesting shade of cloudy brownish blue. This is more of a motel than a hotel. My friend joined me Saturday and the room was still not ready well after check-in. The nice lady at the front desk did accommodate a late check out because of this though, after it was requested. The breakfast was decent.

Property appears to be in transition. Room doors need to be replaced as you need to almost break-in your to to get the door to open. Mold and rust in bathroom. Room fur appears to be dated

The main thing that I look for in a hotel room is cleanliness. It was not clean. I took pictures but I am not going to post them. I knew it wasn't clean when we got there, but I was tired, and I said it was ok if they cleaned up the first area that we saw. They did, but as we were there longer, we kept finding more areas that were not clean and that were poorly maintained. I wish we would have said we couldn't stay. I would never stay there again. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The only negative was one of the rooms had ants.

Had to wait 20 minutes at the front desk to be able to check in. No sign saying someone would be back soon, nobody answering the phone...just waiting.

The room was not clean. It smelled like mildew covered up with an air freshener. The comforters and blankets clearly were dirty and hadn’t been washed in sometime as they had other peoples make up on them and the showed dirt around the edges. The lamp shades were stained. The couch had stains on it. Part of the border on the wall was broken off. The picture above the bed had a frame that was cracked and broken along one entire side. The pool was green and the walls of the pool were cracked and broken. The whole place was run down. I was disappointed and wanted to check out from the moment we walked in but we came in town for my daughter’s medical appointments and we needed a place to stay for three nights. When we left, I used a luggage corral that had a broken pole that kept lifting out of the base every time I tried to turn a corner. Honestly, close the damn place down. The only positive was your staff. There were two ladies , one that worked nights when I checked in and one that worked days on wednesday and Thursday that were the only positives to the place. Jesus. Do better.

Very clean nice room in a quiet area. Conveniently located. Beds are very comfortable.

The guy who staffed the front desk for check-in was too businesslike and not particularly friendly or welcoming. We called about burned out lights above the sink and were told he'd tell maintenance about, and only after we pushed did he come himself he replaced one of the bad bulbs and left.

Breakfast was so hot and fresh

THis is a nice property. It is a work in progress. It need a little work but small items are easily overlooked. Overall very pleasant staff and good stay.

Everything was what u would want when you stay in a hotel. Clean, friendly,pool, breakfast. Close to everything with just being outside of the city. Enjoyed staying there. Can't say anything bad about the place

Our room had lights out, a desk that was coming apart and paint chips on the floor in the restroom and a hole that was patched in the restroom looked like a 7 yr old did the repair. There were multiple things stacked just across the hall from our room near the employee only room. The pool was not in service. A woman that came in before me found mold in her room. They would not give her money back to her as she told them they decided not to stay. She handed their key cards back and the person on duty would not get the manager, but told the woman to call back the next day. Our TV was scrambled on many channels. The breakfast was ok. We stayed at the same hotel 8 years ago. It was clean and spotless, the staff was wonderful, and was one of the best hotel experiences we ever had. I would not recommend staying there again

The room was reasonably clean but obviously worn. It was clear that not much attention is being paid to keeping it refreshed. This was especially true with regard to the bathroom, which was not only very small, but also had a toilet and bath/shower that were in serious need of a good cleaning. It didn't appear that the toilet had been cleaned after prior guests and the shower had significant mold (along with a broken stopper that was lying on the edge of the tub). One of the towels and a pillowcase were both soiled or stained. The public areas outside the room were attractive and clean. The dining room appeared to be particularly clean and while the breakfast buffet offerings were similar to many other hotels, the food itself was very good.

The room was big for the price and very cozy. The bed feels amazing and overall is great. The hotel does have a lil odor that smells like an old building but that’s about it. They also have paintings that are hanging that you can purchase that I think locals make and they are great. The front desk ladies are amazing and very pleasant. Will definitely be returning!

rooms are good, breakfast was ok, nothing to complain, not the best but also not the worst.

Everything was clean and it was so quiet. The room was nicely sized and I loved the style. We slept great and felt quite safe.

I'd stay there again for a good rate - but it looks fancier than it really is. Modern / New Orleans feel to it works but the furniture is nicked up and room could use a little maintenance. I did sleep well. I'd call the hotel "millenialized" with an Ikea-quality gormet coffee theme and minimal staff communication. Breakfast was OK but nothing special. To check-in, had to wait about 20 minutes for desk staff to show up - really the only thing that needed to be cleaned-up.
