Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Brenham

Our room and bathroom was clean, but there was no coffee maker. There was also no other furniture besides a bed and the TV stand. Continental breakfast was only coffee , bread out to toast, and a few bananas.

The sheets blanket and air stink

Location was good. Modern remodeled rooms. Have good potential with a new management that improves the cleanliness. We stayed at the Americas Best Value Inn in Brenham, Texas, from July 23 to July 26. Our stay was terrible from the moment we arrived. Upon check-in, the hallways was dirty and our key card didn't work, so we had to be moved to a different room. As soon as we opened the door, we were hit with a horrible smell of mold, humidity, and something rotting. The floors felt sticky, as if they hadn't been washed in ages. We traced the bad smell to the area underneath the mini-fridge, where there was a gross brown residue from an old spill that had clearly been ignored for a long time. Interestingly, the facilities themselves don't look old and seem to have been recently renovated. However, the lack of hygiene and basic housekeeping is completely unacceptable. Among the issues we found: Bedding: Sheets had yellow stains on them. Furniture: Stains on the upholstery, mold along the edges, and visible talcum powder marks left on a chair by a previous guest. Dust: Heavy dust accumulation on the headboards, baseboards, and moldings that looked like months of neglect. Bathroom: While slightly better than the bedroom, the bathroom exhaust fan and hairdryer were covered in thick dust. Because it was too late to cancel and all other hotels in the area were fully booked for the weekend, we had no choice but to stay. We had to go to Walmart to buy cleaning supplies, new bed sheets, and towels, and spend time deep-cleaning the room ourselves just to make it tolerable. We couldn't even bring ourselves to use the microwave. Ethical concerns: To make matters worse, there is a sign at the front desk offering a free bottle of water in exchange for a 5-star review. This feels completely disrespectful and deceptive. This hotel doesn't even deserve 2 stars, let alone 5, and trying to buy positive reviews with a bottle of water says everything you need to know about their management. I understand this is a budget hotel, but basic hygiene is a non-negotiable standard.

Nice people but roaches in the rooms

It’s infested with roaches, and someone tried to break into my drivers side door & I had to get the doorknob fixed. I requested video footage from the night and staff denied the request. This is top down the worst Americas best value inn that I’ve ever stayed at. Roaches & people try to break into to cars.

Other than that it was a great stay and great location. Staff was very nice and welcoming.

Area was very quiet, fairly clean, and pleasant enough and staff was friendly. The refrigerator didn't seem to be on or working all that well, the toilet handle had to be held a bit before toilet would flush, and two roaches were seen inside room. The bed linen was clean but the mattress covering was stained and could be seen from standing height. The sink faucet was leaking onto countertop if water was turned down low and on high the water was splashing onto the person standing there and all over the countertop. And the ice machine did not work, had to go to local store near by to buy cups of ice.

I stayed 3 hrs extra for a very low price I loved it and the staff very friendly and kind

Every room they put me in was dirty and I dealt with that then the room next to me had a dog that barked all day and when we asked for a new room at night they wouldn’t give us one then the dog barked all night and all morning until I left

The rooms and halls had roaches, dead and alive. There was food on the table and in the room. The sheets had stains on them and looked like someone had stayed and the room was not cleaned! Terrible experience. We got our money back and left. Never going back!
