Unfortunately, I was somewhat disappointed with the overall appearance and cleanliness of the room, especially considering the price. While the floors, beds, and shower were clean, there were quite a few details that made the room feel less well-maintained than expected. The door frames had numerous dents and areas where the finish was missing, and there were stains on the bathroom walls and door. The areas around the perimeter of the sinks could also have used more attention. Our balcony door also did not always lock properly. Since we were on a higher floor, we weren't overly concerned about someone entering the room. There were also a few days when our room was not cleaned even though we had not placed the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and the location really is excellent. Unfortunately, the condition and upkeep of the room did not quite live up to what we expected for the price. We're not sure if we'll return, but given the great location and our previous experience, I wouldn't rule it out.

This was a first - I must say it was not everyone on the staff, however one person can ruin an entire stay if they’re consistently the person one sees most. Ive been staying with the Marquis for decades (1980’s), solo, with a 2nd, friend or family and most importantly my doggers! Up until this visit I have never felt poorly served or made to feel that a small request was a problem, or not permitted. That said - I was sad to see this fine family friendly hotel begin the slip. Our room was shabby, the balcony was mostly over a tar roof. The pool was beautiful and very well maintained. To be Specific - my grown daughter was to meet me for my last day- I paid for a double and she was treated as though she was some kid crashing in her Mom’s room for free (She’s 56 years old). The Towel Law - sorry I was offended, NEVER in all my years of staying here was I told “ NO, you can’t have a second pool towel- 1 per person, I was reminded a few times that a full house of guests was expected (this by the way was to happen after my departure?? I requested the pull out bed be made up for my daughter, it was not, someone dropped the linen on the couch, sans any bed pillows- we managed The bathroom was clean, and well stocked with bath towels daily!! And with so many other places old & new - I think it’s time to try another Cape May ‘home away from home’

Close to the beach and convention hall. Nice out door bar and restaurant. All staff were friendly and respectful. Everything was great no complaints.

Excellent location , clean and staff very helpful

Location was excellent! Across the street from the beach, beautiful views of the water and walking distance to shops, restaurants church and grocery store. Staff was friendly and professional. Food at the hotel restaurant was delicious and fresh and the drinks at the pool side bar were excellent. Would definitely stay here again!

Everything was perfect and we will be staying there again!

The location was terrific, just across the street from the beach and two blocks from the downtown shopping area. Stunning view from our third floor suite and balcony. The Barefoot Bar & Restaurant had a nice and reasonably priced breakfast. What we really didn’t like: unable to check in until 4:00 pm! Felt like a wasted day. Floors in the suite were filthy, needed to be vacuumed and scrubbed. Balcony overlooked the outdoor restaurant where there was live music every night. Enjoyed it somewhat one night sitting out on the balcony, but it went on for over four hours and was so loud you could hear it blocks away.

Great location! Nice sized rooms. Shower was good. It had a small refrigerator with a large freezer which was very helpful . The beds in our room 223 were very old & uncomfortable. The air conditioning unit was very loud & turned off & on all night making it hard to sleep & also hard to hang out on the balcony. Overall a great stay besides the above issues.

Staff was great and location is perfect. Rooms are a little dated but very functional. Will stay again.

The room was very clean, well equipped, and beautifully decorated with a beach theme. The view from our terrace was spectacular! We also enjoyed lunch at the Barefoot Bar -- good food and a fun atmosphere.

too many kids, pool is small. we had 3 guests and provided only 2 beach badges. i think it would be nice to get all 3

1. There is only one sink, and it is in the room next to the area where the microwave, mini-fridge, etc. are located. This is the equivalent of performing all the functions you normally do at your bathroom sink at your kitchen sink. The current pictures and description of the room on the website do not make it clear that there is only one sink and that it is not in the bathroom. The pictures appear to have been taken from angles that obscure this fact. 2. The positioning of the air conditioning unit is not practical. It is underneath the table/desk and faces the bed. When you are sitting at the table/desk, cold air blows on your legs. When you are lying in the bed on the side nearest the air conditioning unit, cold air blows directly on you. I would also like to point out the following. These things did not bother me but should be noted. The room did not have: 1. A closet. Just a small clothes bar to hold a few clothes. 2. An iron and ironing board. There is one located in the laundry room. 3. A luggage rack to hold your suitcase while unpacking. 4. The room is very small and a little cramped for two people. Since we don't spend much time in the hotel room, this was not a problem for us. 5. On-site parking is very limited. However, there are off-site options a short walk away.

The room itself was nice but upon entering the air conditioner sounded like a jet engine. I tried to call the front office and the phone was not working. I went to the desk and reported the issues. They did send someone to look at the problems. The phone was fixed but the air conditioner would run quietly for about 15 minutes and then the loud noise started. This continued ALL NIGHT LONG! I booked this hotel because of the location but probably will not return.

Staff was excellent. I needed to stay an extra night and they were able to accommodate me and let me move into the available room at check out time from my other room without having to wait until four oclock. The pool was great. The rooms were clean and spacious. Will definitely go back
