Motel 6 Carlisle, PA - Cumberland Valley

We arrived early in the morning at like 2 AM after driving for 4 1/2 hours. we go into the room and there’s a roach on the door inside the room and then we look over near the bed and there’s five of them running around. We went right back to the front desk and told Christine that we would not stay and she was excellent. She had no questions asked gave us all our money back.

Small and quiet. No frills but comfortable beds. Staff was very helpful.

Do not get a smoking room. It was disgusting. There were bugs everywhere and the ceiling light in the bathroom was falling out of the ceiling ready to crash on top of me. The room reeked and made all of my clothes stink. I only got the smoking room because I vape medical marijuana, but at that point I would’ve gone to my car every time if that meant getting a better room. I already moved rooms after the first one was gross, and I got the second one and just dealt with it. Hopefully the non-smoking are nicer because my stay was very much ruined by that factor.

I am shocked that this motel has such high reviews. Obviously it is a motel 6 so my expectations are already at that level. However, the room was not cleaned properly. The sink was not wiped down, the sheets had brown stains, the towels had brown stains, the tub did not drain properly and the shower head did not appear to be fully attached. The shower head is also very low and being over 6 feet tall was uncomfortable. When we checked out we wanted to bring these issues to the attention to the front desk but no one was there and there was only a note saying to leave the room keys in a bowl. The parking lot and ice machine was the only shining star of the experience. The rooms need a thorough disinfectant and wipe down. Also, all of the towels should be bleached or thrown out. The brown stains are uncalled for. I appreciate a cheap motel option on a busy weeekend but the cleanliness was not even subpar.

The young lady that checked us in was the best. She was very helpful. The beds were ok, tv was very nice . The bathroom was scary, old and moldy. Bottom of tub was black. Tried to clean it no luck. The floor turned our socks black. Not good.

Definitely could have been cleaner, but overall wasn't too bad.

I would highly recommend staying somewhere else! The room was absolutely filthy. It had so much water damage, mold, cockroaches, and had a smell of smoke. The place is also next door to a tractor trailer depo and the trucks drive thru the lot non-stop, all you hear are air brakes and loud diesel engines!! We were scheduled for two nights and left.
