Hampton Inn & Suites Chapel Hill-Carrboro/Downtown

Superb

I went to UNC and now both my boys are there. This hotel has the best location to be able to do all the things. Right near Franklin in carborro near tons of good restaurants. The hotel it itself is similar to most Hampton Inns but staff is particularly helpful and it is always really fresh and clean. Exactly what you need for visiting your kids going to a game or just hanging out clean spacious rooms great location. But stop going because it’s always booked for me.

The cleanliness was great. Breakfast was bad. No fruit. No coffee. No eggs. All were replenished eventually except for coffee. Breakfast is clearly an afterthought.

The staff is very friendly, rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast was very good.

The young lady working the desk on Friday night was excellent. There was a system outage but she handled everyone with grace. Wonderful job! Thank you so much.

When we checked in, they were having computer troubles. The lady at check-in was juggling a bunch of us at the same time. She did a fantastic job getting it done. Wasn't her fault the computers were down but she worked through it.

Kind staff; solid breakfast; generally clean; good location understaffed (did not have the proper sheets for a pull-out and could not make it up while we were out due to lack of staff); two of the three shower gels ran out during our one night stay

Finding hotel was difficult. One GPS took me to a parking lot, the other took me into a strip mall and I was able to find a brick building. No sign on outside of building, small 2 foot by 1 foot sign in the window, but I missed it the first time. No sign inside. I was not sure I was at the Hampton until I saw a name tag when checking in. The door to my room was heavy and took my body weight to open, and did not shut all the way behind me unless I pushed it. The next morning, I was awakend by loud running water, I thought a pipe had burst, but apparently it was the shower upstairs. Breakfast was well stocked at 7am, but by 9 it was in bad need of restocking. I booked for 2 nights, my key did not work on the second day, had to go back downstairs and wait in line for it to get fixed. The parking garage is not attached to the hotel and hotel parking is on 4th and 5th floors. My room was on the 4th floor, so that meant parking the car, going down the elevator, very short walk to hotel (not covered) then up the elevator again.

It was clean, roomy, staff was friendly and the breakfast was good
