Tropical Inn & Suites

The room was very clean as were the linens; however, there was a wet mildew type smell in the entire room that was very off putting. The check in was a smooth process; however, the $50 CASH only deposit for a key charge was a bit shady. I didn’t pay for it so i had to call the front desk attendant every time we returned back to the hotel so he could open up the room for us. More annoying for him but also not convenient as twice I called and it went to voicemail. The courtyard area could use a clean up but the pool was clean, balanced water and peaceful to relax by.

I loved the clean rooms and the neighborhood

It was a clean, nice hotel in a quiet neighborhood with a vintage esthetically pleasing color-scheme. The pool was also clean. Not so much a "dislike", but it would be more handy to have a car. It's just slightly out of the way (about 3 miles) from the beach or other attractions.

Great staff, comfortable bed, the garden and pool area made for a nice courtyard area. Everything about this place was great! Especially for the money, it's more than worth the value. The parking lot was a little small, but that's about it.

Spacious bathrooms. Plenty of drawer storage. Good sized fridge with icebox and a microwave. Nice pool and courtyard seating areas. Very handy laundrette next door. Nice clean area with small shops and bars close by. Mike is very personable and always happy to provide for your needs upon request. No housekeeping is offered so you must request replacement towels etc. from reception. Rooms don't have a secure safe. Beds are quite high with very firm mattresses. There is no breakfast/dining option. Reception availability is limited but there are contact numbers provided. On-site parking is at a separate charge of $10 per night.

Convenient room, calm place, fresh remodulation. Too early Check-out time (at 10 a.m.). Fee for parking.

It is an old hotel, but inside the rooms is another thing. Very nice inside!!

Clean and comfortable

I just can't believe we lucked into such an affordable, bright, clean, and quiet place to stay in the heart of Clearwater, the wife and I just loved it!

Great for a one night stop. The room was comfortable and very clean. Had everything we needed. It was colourfully decorated on the outside and looked really well. The pool looked nice too although we didn’t use it. The beds were comfy as were the pillows. Great shower. The guy on reception was very friendly and helpful. Good value for money. The only thing I didn’t like was the air conditioning was a bit loud next to the bed but not loud enough to keep me awake. Also the $10 a night parking fee was unexpected as it’s not a car park that would be used by anyone other than guests.

Friendly checkin, had nice parking for our boat

Location was good. Nice outdoor area and pool. We stayed Saturday through Thursday, and our room was never cleaned. Trash never emptied, no clean towels. We had 2 towels for 3 people and had to ask for more. We only had less than 1 roll of toilet paper for 3 girls, I bought more. The shower had almost no water pressure.

Office manager was very rude, condescending … when we arrived he insisted on me to pay by cash because he said card reader was down… all of a sudden the card reader worked within 10 minutes..if you want housekeeping services it would be $10/day.. Manger said that the money for the room was just for the room, nothing else…we had a horrible experience and would never recommend this place!

Nicely renovated TV remote did not work, low water pressure

Noticed some deterioration in furniture. Mainly the chair.

We were in town for the weekend to go to Honeymoon State Park and it was a good base location. Quiet neighborhood not on the main thoroughfare but minutes from everything. Did not like that it is a non-smoking PROPERTY. We were unable to sit in the common areas or make use of the patio/benches and had to go beyond the back parking lot.

The location is super. Mike the owner is wonderful. They allow early check in. The pool is awesome. I will definitely stay here again. Everything was great
