The Hotel at the University of Maryland

My only complaint is the ac my room was really hot and the thermostat was locked

My family and I absolutely loved and enjoyed the hotel. Our room was very big/spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs when we needed help. The lobby bar was awesome. My mother and I enjoyed having drinks at the bar in the evenings with many options. Breakfast was really good. We ate breakfast at the Iron Rooster restaurant onsite every morning. The food was amazing each time, and we enjoyed their mimosas. We also ate dinner at the Grillmarx which was good as well. The hotel has many options for dining. You barely have to leave the hotel for anything. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Maryland.

The parking at the hotel is in a dark parking garage. There is no breakfast available before 8 AM. My particular room had dinged up furniture and could really use a makeover. It was disappointing.

I have stayed at The Hotel in the past, and unfortunately, the hotel was not up to par this time. Check-in was smooth and pleasant. We were there for a college visit, so we did not use any of the amenities, such as the pool or gym. Our room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. However, half of the outlets did not work. The top outlet worked for the lamp, but the bottom outlet did not, so you couldn't use the full outlet. The TV also did not work. There was sound but no picture. I called the front desk, and the phone handset did not work. I had to speak to them on speakerphone. Engineering came up to look at the TV but was unable to fix it. They offered to move us; however, we were already unpacked and settled in. I would've preferred that they offer us free breakfast or complimentary parking for the inconvenience, but that was not the case. Overall, I would stay again because it was clean and convenient, but I will definitely change rooms or speak up sooner if something isn't working.

This will be my go to for accommodations when in the area. Checking and unloading was a breeze especially doing it with rambunctious kids. Parking was great. I do wish the parking charge was included for guests. All the restaurants in the area were reasonably priced as well.

The amenities are clean. The parking lot is a great deal as you are a guest.

Great service and a nice place to stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We had a great experience and would definitely stay here again!

The refrigerator in the room was smaller than what I’m used to. But other than that I LOVED the room

Beautiful property. Very comfortable room. Nice touch having all lights controlled by the bed. Only stayed one night but wish it was longer.

The staff was great but the only "great" part of the stay. The television has no cable/satellite/streaming, only casting. Minor maintenence issues pervaded (the shower door doesn't shut entirely and the hose to the shower head was loose and spraying water, the coffee maker was loud and would only brew half a cup) and the AC never got below 74. Also, the cooler is a cooler, not a fridge. If you NEED to keep something cold you're going to have to make some trips to the ice maker. The layout was also poor. You have to cross the length of the hotel from the parking garage to get to the room elevators, then my room was back closer to the garage side. I was working from the hotel so between luggage and my workstation it took several trips that seemed unnecessarily long. Then on my checkout day they closed the floor that connects the garage to the elevators for a private event, so it required going down another floor, crossing the length of the hotel, then back up one floor..... again, for several trips. You'd think with all those issues they'd at least throw in breakfast for the price, but no, that's not included. It was safe and that gets it 2 stars. The staff got the third star. The stay doesn't deserve more than that.

The hotel was right next to University of Maryland which we were visiting and the tour started in the hotel conference room. Hotel lobby and rooms were very modern. Great restaurant and coffee shop on the property. Also, rooms were large and comfortable.

Great stay! Clean, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. The on-campus location at the University of Maryland was incredibly convenient. Would definitely stay again.

2) the land phone in the room didn't work and couldn't connect to front desk.

This is one of the best hotel I stayed this year. The room is large and comfortable. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from on the property. There is an attached parking deck that offers a discounted rate for hotel guests.
