I'm a park ranger and I needed a room for the weekend to be closer to work. I expected I-26 to be terrible for the 4th coming from Irmo so I booked this hotel. I found Tru by Hilton to be wonderful for the price. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. My room was extremely comfortable, clean and inviting. The a/c temp was just right. Bed and pillows were also comfortable. 10/10 experience

Overall, my stay at this hotel was wonderful! The location and ease of access to Downtown Columbia was a huge plus and the grounds were very well maintained. The only issue I had is that the wi-fi wasn’t as fast as I would have liked but considering the price I paid for my stay, of course everything couldn’t be perfect! I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is staying in the area and looking for a very nice hotel without breaking the bank!

The workers are really friendly and kind and try to help to the best they can and the breakfast was really good and the room was clean on a daily basis and where was more then enough parking never had a problem finding parking the days I was there

The breakfast was less than expected because options were limited. The heat/cool unit ran continuously regardless of the room temperature, which made sleeping more difficult for a light sleeper. Staff was nice and helpful.

Best night of sleep I've had in a while! Reception staff was awesome - - kind and professional. Room was exactly as photographed and described. The lemon hand soap was out of this world! The personalized welcome on the flatscreen was a nice touch.

Very clean, breakfast was great

The room was decent and spacious but the thermostat will not allow room cooling past 68°. I am a person that runs very hot and i might need it cooler to fall asleep. Also it gets really hot in SC. The area is kind of ghetto which isnt the hotels fault but people should know what to expect nearby. When i showed up to check in there was nobody behind the counter to greet. I had to wait for one of the cleaning staff to go find the hostess. After being checked in i noticed there was stuff still left in the room refrigerator. Also my view from the window was a hornets nest and there was a small hole in the ceiling near the window leading me to believe its possible for bugs to get in. They did not luckily. There is no microwave in the room so if you have leftovers, you must go to the lobby to warm your food up. Also there are cups in the room for you that are wrapped in plastic to give the impression of clean fresh cups. There were paper cups with stains inside of them, wrapped in plastic. That was it for me.
