Red Roof Inn Columbus - Ohio State Fairgrounds

Bathroom was filthy; big balls of hair behind the bathroom door; only had towels/washcloths one day, was told it was my responsibility to let the cleaning staff know by 9:00 a.m. (went to Dollar Store to buy our own towels and washcloths). The smell on the 1st floor hallway was terrible; it reeked of urine. Will not stay there again!

The attendant was very angry or upset or he just didn’t wanna be at work. He was very blunt. He didn’t wanna assist me in anything. I told him I had lupus and I wanted a Downstairs room. He just looked at me and shrugged his shoulders, like OK. The room was very smelly nasty smell the halls smell like urine. I had a dirty towel in my room which like a footprint was on it and I do have a copy of that. It was Hair inside of the bathtub I called up there, but he answered the phone so it was no ise to leaving a message because of course he wasn’t going to get to where they need to get to so I hung up. It was the worst experience ever and my first night in Columbus Ohio ever . As a nurse I almost went back home .several times I came to the front desk to ask questions and he never came to the front desk at all I didn’t have a ice bag in my room at all I didn’t like the attendant is attitude. He didn’t want to help or assist me with anything or my questions. He was very blunt with his answers and just looked at me with a just a starry Eye just looked at me. The smell in the hallway is the smell in the room. It was just a crazy, nasty smell, and then the dirty towel in the room was in the bathroom and the hair inside of the bathtub. Also several times I came downstairs rung the bell he didn’t even come to the front desk at all

Nothing Really Front Desk worker was Rude, and Very unprofessional. Couldn’t find housekeeping to get extra towels and toilet paper. They lied and said we took orange coverings off the bed? However there were no orange coverings on the bed upon our arrival, but that front desk person wouldn’t listen to what I had to say. I am NOT A THIEF, I work everyday and if I need bed covers I can buy them myself. I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING AT THIS LOCATION .

I checked in, viewed the room, and checked out immediately. The room smelled strongly of urine, and activity outside the property made me feel uncomfortable about safety. The front desk staff was short in communication and did not leave a positive impression. Unfortunately, I did not feel comfortable staying at this hotel.

Shady area

The only nice thing I can say is they refunded my stay, but that was after I reached out to Expedia to fix the problem. Ready for the story? Here's the short version... We checked in and felt pretty sketched out by the area. No biggie, we've stayed in worse areas. We get to the room and there's clearly signs that this was going to be a problem. In checking to make sure things are clean I find food and cheese crumbs under a mattress, trash under a bed, a live silverfish on a pillow, and dead bugs in the corner of the closet floor. The desk clerk offered a different room, that wasn't really any better. I found stained sheets and dead bugs in the bathroom. I told the clerk I wanted to leave and asked for a refund. He wasn't helpful at all. We left and after finding another place to stay, I contacted Expedia and they worked out a refund with the property. To be fair, I absolutely should have never booked this property. I saw the rating at 4.8 stars and thought that sounds great. I can't say that I consciously thought about the scale, but so much is out of 5 stars so I honestly didn't think much more about it. After going back and looking at things when we were deciding whether or not to leave, I realized it was 10 point scale and had I recognized that I NEVER would have booked the property at all.

Room smells like cat urine. Toilet didn't work correctly. They charged me an extra $100 at check-in after paying in advance for my room. The bed was very uncomfortable. We woke up with bites all over us so there is probably bed bugs.

Price and availability were good, staff were friendly, and lights/electronics/etc seemed to work as intended. AC worked great. Bed sheets had some light stains, room had marks on the floor and walls, a lamp wasn't plugged in, tv slightly crooked, very minor stuff, bed wasn't all that comfy, convenience item selection could have been better, but wasn't bad. Location seemed a tad sketch, but my truck wasn't messed with, despite having things exposed/out in the open in the back/bed. Front desk had a large sign about not being liable for theft though, so sounds like that may be an issue here.

Room was disgusting the bathroom disgusting and falling apart couldn’t even use the bathroom sink , the photos are not what the property really looks like , a lot of sketchy behavior outside all hours of the night definitely not safe especially for a family with little kids and we were way over charged what the normal price was also not having any luck in getting a refund for at least the second night since left early morning following after check in

The light didnt work the door lock didnt work half the time. Bed bugs.

Nothing the neighbor and location make you feel very unsafe It’s in the middle of what some would call the projects and there and a lot of drug users that frequent there

I did not like the fact that there were plenty of people hanging around the property that were not staying there…we left when we got back to the hotel after our event for that reason.

Very dirty place

-Dogs howled all night long. -No elevator. -Everything was dirty, or broken. -Hairs on and in the bed and pillowcases. -Asked for a working iron and the iron gave me was cracked and ripped my blouse. -The atmosphere was creepy. -They asked for a security deposit, even though I paid in full online and this wasn't disclosed online. DON'T STAY HERE!

It's in need of remodeling and cleaning. The outer doors don't lock. The bathroom smelled funny. At least the mattress was comfortable. It wasn't a good value.

The staff was nice It was dirty. The room reeked of cat urine !! There was mold throughout the shower holes in the door as if someone punched it several times a bullet hole in the glass window. Lots of drug activity in and outside the hotel!

There are people smoking crack in the parking lot

Nothing DO NOT stay at this hotel it’s ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!! also you have to pay 100 deposit when you check in … the hotel REEKED cigarettes while it said online and on booking.com it was non smoking …. Along with the bed being FILTHY. the door to my room didn’t close all the way and the floor was covered in huge stains and dirt. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY !!!!!!
