Clarion Hotel Concord/Walnut Creek

Clean hotel with nice staff. Breakfast could have had a little more variety but the property was undergoing renovations so I guess they couldn't do what they would usually do at a Clarion.

I got there only to realize no ost of the hotel was under construction. So, of course there was no use of the pool. The room was okay, but what really upset me is that they charged my card for $44 for parking 4 ays after I checked out. Like I wasn't gonna notice? No mention of any parking fee when I checked in OR when I checked out. Then they said it was for secure parking. What? It was not gated, I never saw any security guards and I was there 4 days. All I saw was all of the construction equipment and construction material stock in the parking lot.

I would like a refund on my stay!!! They were remodeling the whole hotel room, which they didnt state online. Me and my family did not get to enjoy all the amenities stated online!

Its under serious construction! No pool, and work being done 7 days a week. Piles of supplies all over the facility grounds. Work trucks, dust, and noise! Bathrooms dont have ventalalayion or windows. This makes rooms very hot and stuffy in rooms. AC was on full blast on a 90degree day and room was not cool enough. Front desk staff sit at a folding table.

Room was clean. Bed was firm, like I prefer. AC was strong. Issue with the shower. The room looked like it was just remodeled. The shower needed a friction mat. It was super slippery. Someone could really fall and get hurt. Very nice job on the remodel.

When we arrived the entire hotel was under major renovation. Entering the lobby the check in desk was a fold away table and laptop. When I made the comment "I didn't know you guys were under renovation" the staff member said it was listed on the website (rudely mind you). I pulled out my phone to show that it in fact did not but had no reception inside the "lobby". I moved closer to outside and got service. When I viewed the property both in their website and hotels.com it had no mention in renovations. I conversed with my family and we decided not to stay. Even though we had just grabbed keys from the front desk lady, she again rudely said she had to check the rooms to make sure we didn't do anything to them..... My mind was blown. I felt very offended she would think we'd do something to the rooms. The place was a mess boxes, paint, plastic, tape the smell of paint in every section. Very upset for this place still be renting rooms! Unacceptable. But what upset me the most was the attitude from the lady at the front desk. Completely uncalled for. We travel often due to my son's sports and Clarion has lost not only my family(which is at least 3 rooms), but the entire team's business. I will be sure to share my experience, not only on the condition of the hotel but mainly based off of the females attitude.

BUT……. the staff and comstruction people are fantastic and welcoming, and it’s QUIET! I kid you joy - once in the room, you hear nothing from outside. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was great. I will stay there again.

Under construction, supplies everywhere, shoved all guests on sides of construction

The entire site was a construction site. Let me repeat that. Everything everywhere was being painted, rugged, replanted, or updated. It looked like the work was going well, and I'm sure it will be a nicer place when it is done, but I would not have stayed here if I knew it was a construction site.

The hotel was under major construction and I was not told of this by the hotel or by hotels.com. The construction was super inconvenient especially when trying to get to my room. I did get a renovated room and it was nice and all but it did not make any difference with the construction. I wish I was told of this before booking!

Just be aware the hotel is going thru a extensive renovation its a little scary ,no pool no gym, I wasent able to located an ice machine ,the price for the night wasent the cheapest for the area $150 a night ,clean room and beds were comfortable, microwave and fridge works its a plus ,I think after its done will be a good place to stay again I will give them another shot on the future.

The whole hotel is under construction, which is understandable, and I expected some inconvenience because of that. However, the morning of my stay I was awakened by water leaking from the ceiling into my room. Water was dripping onto the floor, and I was concerned about my belongings getting wet. After reporting it to the front desk, I was told there was nothing they could do. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable staying and decided to check out early. Construction is one thing, but guests shouldn’t have to deal with a leaking ceiling while they’re sleeping. I hope the hotel addresses these issues before renting out rooms in that condition.

Bathrooms were too small and dirty! The walls had water bubbles in it.. I was supposed to stay 2 nights but I couldn’t do it I checked out the next day
