Sand Castle Motel

Our stay was good, very tight, limited parking.

Right on beach has pretty nice pool.. kitchenette so we could cook our own food.. this was our 2nd yr there an we really enjoyed our stay will definitely be back for yr 3

I have been coming here about 8 years. The ownership changed during this time and it's simply not the same. The bed was comfortable and clean. The pool was excellent! The location is nice and convenient. I have been coming here for about 8 years now. The ownership has changed and it's simply not the same. Starting with the landscaping in front of the ocean front room I've stayed in many times. The grass wasn't mowed, no trees flowers or umbrella tables like before. Visible old furniture under the garage space that needs thrown away. However the biggest thing for me was the bathroom! Not maintained at all. Looked like mold or mildew all around where the shower wall and tub connects. A big crack in the tub where the soap dish is. The towel rack was broken off the wall and in its place was a crocked plastic command hook. The shower head had water buildup and needed to be replaced as well. All this was unacceptable. The kitchen sink water had zero pressure and barley run at all at full speed. And another huge, huge thing for me, the beach is messy. I like a good shower. It was like pulling teeth when you ask for extra towels. Its was "don't you have some already?" "I'll give you one more." I assure you I'm not stealing towels but I did pay money to stay here and would like extra towels upon request when I need them. I went to Walmart and bought my own towels and wash cloths because the washcloths they hand out are thin and need replaced. It's a shame. This motel has so much potential. With some love and care (remodel bathrooms especially) it would be nice again. Disappointing to see it go downhill. Changes need to be made before I'd stay here again. Sad because it was simple. Me and my husband always enjoyed it.

The kitchen need upgrade, there weren’t no utensils/ noticeable molds on bathroom ceiling and sink was not working properly, broken faucet and sink drain! Can also need cabinets replacing, also there’s no vent..!

The location was perfect, very close to Sunglow Pier and Port Orange. The room had glitter all over the bed and nightstands. So clearly, the room was not cleaned after the previous guest. I received a call in the middle of the night asking if we were in the room because maintenance wanted to know, which was kind of scary. So we were worried someone was going to come into the room.

Loved being on the water. The entrance to our room was flooded with water which made water drag into the room. We asked for towels to clean it up and ended up needing more and they didn’t give us any.

Location, availability and price Door is very difficult to open. There was quite a gap in the windows and door, and you could hear people as they were talking walking by and there was so many people sitting out front of their room smoking and the smell just walked towards the room.

Very good value for the price we paid. Room was clean and well maintained. Beach access was good as was the pool. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only issue was the tub leaked slightly but hardly an issue. Would stay there again.

We wanted an affordable place to stay a few days on the beach with our kids before going to Disney and this place was perfect!! We don’t need all the frills, we just want a clean place to sleep. It was affordable and clean. The beds were comfortable. AC worked well. It is an older building, but the rooms were spacious enough and we loved having a full refrigerator and small kitchen so we were able to pick up sandwich supplies and other lunch options for the room, it had a large walkin tiled shower. The staff were all really nice. You can see the ocean from the pool. The area was quiet and felt safe. Lots of restaurant options in the area that are just a short drive away. Convenience store located across the street. I was able to walk to Starbucks for morning coffee. There is a great little homemade ice cream food truck called Mimi’s near the hotel that my family loved also. We will absolutely be back to stay here at this hotel on our future trips to the Daytona Beach area.

2. Small roaches in kitchen. Bought some roach stuff. 3. Charges you for late check out 4. No towels for beach 5. Electricity went out. No storm or rain.

Room was clean but outdated. Towels are thin and scratchy. If that bothers you, bring your own. Staff we ran into were very nice and helpful. Motel could overall use an update, but price and location were outstanding!!

Super nice staff and excellent location! Caroline was very helpful on the phone and when I got there. The guy who worked there helped me up the stairs with my beach wagon. Will likely stay again! Just needs updating

I looked for a last minute room expecting low quality for the price I paid and WOW was I happy! Great location, pretty room. Large equipped and great bed!!! No more third rate hotels!! And the pool is. beautiful and clean!!!! Parking is limited but it's okay..

Location on the beach. Room size great. Could not see out both sliding doors to Balcony. Sliding doors could not be opened without extreme force. Sliding door channels dirty and rusted. No washcloths or dish cloths. Framework holding up second floor falling down. Balcony was dirty and sand pail was half full of cigarette butts. Overall room was dirty and should not have been rented out. We will find other accommodations on our next stay in the Daytona area. Was at front desk to get washcloths and was treated like we were interrupting her day. Did not seem surprised that we needed anything. Sad. Would not recommend this Motel.

i loved everything . right next to the beach , lovely pool , and staff was pretty chill . BATHROOM WAS PINK!!! nothing fr
