The Hotel By Gold Dust

Cozy place nestled in the side of the mountain and lovely people. Felt very much a part of Mt Rushmore. Plus yummy biscuit n gravy.

Place was nice and central to the town. Toilet had low pressure and didn't flush well. The theme was fun, and was glad to find a pet friendly place on short notice!

Poor breakfast set up, great rooms very comfortable beds. Large bathroom. Front desk staff seemed bothered by questions

My room had NO windows!!! It's like they put me up in a closet! Had to wait 15 minutes at the front desk to check in because there was no one around to help.

The rooms are small but comfortable. I slept comfortable in the bed. The bathroom was clean sort of. Waterspots on the faucet and shower door. Lush towels. No daily housekeeping but I prefer that when only staying a couple of days. It was beautifully located in the center of town. Mostly walkable town.

Room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating.

The hotel was right in the heart of the historic district! Shopping, saloons & an open amphitheater with blue grass music! All within 2 blocks.

Renovated old building, has character but is updated. Parking is a block away in a gate entry parking lot, but they have a 20 min load/unload zone in front of the hotel.

The hotel overall was pretty good. The shower had a lot of mineral buildup, not dirty but hard water stains maybe. Breakfast had no fruit or proteins. There was a beautiful bird singing outside my window at 5 am. But the location was good and the beds were comfortable

As always, room was clean and included a mini fridge and microwave. Location is central to everything downtown.

The location For staying at a hotel that has a steakhouse attached, or associated with it, you get no benefits for staying there unless you pay extra. The room was already a lot. I stay at a different hotel in Deadwood and get a lot of benefits for staying at their hotel. It is like the Hotel By Gold Dust dosen't careful you stay or not. Doubt I will stay there again.

Great location and you can't beat free parking and continental breakfast. Walkable to everything we needed. Room could use some deep cleaning. I can't wait to go back to Deadwood!

We chose the Gold Dust for our family stay in Deadwood. It was a good location with parking nearby. Within walking distance of the Cemetery, Main Street, and a cute Coffee shop. We rolled into town after 10 hours on the road. The gentleman at the desk was less than happy to be there and seemed to take it out on us. I made the reservations and paid for the 3 rooms through Expedia months in advance. The check in should have been easy and seamless. The person at the desk was chatting with friends when we walked in and when I inquired about getting all 3 rooms he stated he could not tell me about my grown children's rooms only mine. Fine, privacy is a good thing. Once I checked in , my daughter began the process and he was robotic with her and when my son came in he was rude. None of us were impressed with this person. Hospitality is an art and he was no artist. The hotel itself was cute and convenient and clean. But the people create the impressions, his was bad. Unfortunate.

Check in was easy. You can park in front for 20 minutes which allows you time to check in and unload some luggage before parking. This is helpful since parking is across the street. Room was clean and as advertised. Bathroom was good, lots of hotwater! Breakfast was excellent!
