Hotel Winneshiek

Very beautiful old hotel, well maintained. Several lights in the room didn’t work. Tub/ shower very dangerous for a short, older person to use. Towels were on a very high shelf.

It was nice to have a place to store our bikes. We enjoyed the lounge at night with helpful and knowledgeable bartenders. It was bit bright for our liking but had comfortable seating. Decorah is always a beautiful town to visit. The hotel is a convenient and comfortable place to stay.

This is an old hotel, but well kept and has convenient free parking and right on the main shopping/dining street. We ate dinner at two lovely restaurants, just minutes away by foot. Also, the Norwegian Museum was well worth a visit and just a 5 minute walk. Nice bookstores, cookware stores and activewear stores nearby. We were tourists, and there’s plenty to do (walking trails and orchards at Seed Savers, a multitude of trails/parks, trout fishery) in the area for a long weekend.

This hotel was amazing! Everything is so well cared for, great staff, great bar, right in the heart of downtown. You feel totally spoiled in this beautiful building- very affordable!

The staff were very friendly, the hotel bartender was delightful to talk to and had excellent drink recommendations. It’s a lovely old building to stay in. We had a suite and were the only room on our floor. That felt kinda special, our 13 year old really enjoyed the experience.

Hotel Winneshiek is a beautiful hotel with immediate access to everything Decorah has to offer. The hotel has a beautiful old world charm with all the modern amenities needed, including a lounge, and breakfast in the morning. The best part is the rooms were beautiful and the beds were fantastic!

Lovely historic hotel in a quiet, quaint, walkable downtown.

Enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly. Didn't use the bar, but thought the breakfast selection could use a little improvement. Thanks.
