Beautiful woodwork. Easy to find.

The hostess didn’t inform of any amenities and there was NO breakfast The location was convenient to the entrance to belle isle which is worth the trip. Don’t arrive before 3pm as locked and no one there

My fiancé and I recently stayed at this property and truly enjoyed many aspects of our visit. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous and our room exceeded our expectations-especially the bathroom, which was one of the highlights of our stay. Based on that experience alone, we were genuinely excited about returning in the near future. However, shortly after our stay, we were unexpectedly charged $300 for “missing bathrobes” that were never in our room in the first place. Although the charge was refunded the interaction was uncomfortable and lacked an apology leaving me feeling like my honesty was questioned. Overall, this is a lovely property with real potential to deliver a great guest experience, unfortunately how situations like this are handled matters just as much as the stay itself. I hope the management will reflect on this and approach future guest concerns with a more open and respectful mindset.

The house was very beautifully renovated. The room was clean and spacious. Rachel was kind and very friendly. Fresh pastries, coffee and tea were ready every morning and the delicious smell filled the house, best wake up call!

I did not try the breakfast. When using Expedia is not included. I would recommend this place!

Absolutely lovely B&B between downtown Detroit and Grosse Pointe. About a block from the river, located just up from a busy street (but no road noise). The house, which used to be owned by a wealthy family -- hense the name -- has been lovingly restored by its current owners. I booked due to the pictures, in real life, the attention to detail is even better. The tile, woodwork and period furniture are exquisite. So is the garden! The owner was very friendly and talkative! The only complaint (this is a review, nothing is ever perfect) was that there was a single high-end fancy drink coffee machine which was hard to operate and only sometimes actually produced a cup of joe. This means that we did not really have any real coffee from our hotel experience, but coffee is basically a mainstay of life for those who are addicted. This is easy to fix: put out regular coffee in a carafe for the guests and keep it hot and fresh all day. This is not really a B & B becuase a hearty breakfast would be extra, although the pastries were wonderful! If I'm ever in Detroit, I'd stay here again.

Detroit is full of beautiful old buildings and this is a great one, run by the same woman who worked on its renovation. I stayed in the Dahlia room, which has a jacuzzi and lovely fireplace. The bed was extremely comfortable. Morning coffee is served in a gorgeous parlor and solarium, and the proprietors are very attentive and helpful.

Hotel was amazing and owner very friendly. However we booked on Expedia because included free breakfast however owner wanted to charge us $20 pp. we went off site for breakfast. Also couldn’t get the TV to work in the living room, we made the owner aware.

Beautifully restored historic home with amazing attention to detail. We stayed in the Astor room. Very comfortable bed and room was perfect. Close to the Ford house which we toured. Owners are very welcoming and passionate about their B&B and made our experience a great memory! Thank you!

Beautifully restored building. Loved the care and effort they put into making this inn what it is today. So much attention to detail. Great location. Wish our stay was longer. Would Definitely stay here again.

The owner was a delightful person to chat with. The house was amazing and a great treat for my husband snd it to experience.

As a guest, I would have appreciated several features and conveniences: A coffee maker in the room or printed information about Access to coffee in the main floor lobby in the morning. Some print information with information about connecting to the internet; a brochure or literature from the Detroit Visitors’ Bureau; and a list of nearby restaurants. As a customer, I would expect: A grab bar in the shower/tub Hot water in the shower; over three days it never was more than lukewarm Hot and cold water faucet handles that allowed more than a dribble of water in the shower and in the sink At least four bath towels rather than two A bar of soap larger than only the two postage-stamp pats of soap provided, one in the shower and one at the sink A plastic cup (or two) in the bathroom

Staff/owner was great to let us check in early.
