Just don’t do it. We’re traveling from MA- so it served its purpose for one night. It’s just run down, not in the best area of Detroit (again we had no idea what’s what). Check in process was a breeze. All the rooms would exhausts the AC system into the main hallway, that was closed off- so it was super steamy. Everything was just dingey, water stained, nothing felt clean. 16 hours between arriving, sleeping, and then checking out was more than enough for that. However, it was affordable when you’re on a budget

The property was scary! People hanging out in the lot, which the area looked unsafe, clearly didn’t have a room there. Ladies of the night coming and going all night and day. We were only there for one night because of a concert, check out could come fast enough. #very grungy!

This was the worst place I have ever stayed. Prior to going I looked at some reviews and most were rating this place very highly and I am not sure why. The hotel itself is extremely run down. This property is owned by Baymont but managed by a motor lodge. The carpets in the entire place were extremely dirty. The hallways do not have air conditioning and they have the windows open to let air circulate. I got to my room and the A/C unit was not turned on and it was extremely musty smelling and extremely hot in the room. The bedspread was dirty, there was hair on the sheets. The bathroom was run down and the room was in need of repairs. I went to the front desk and they switched me to another room. This room took 3 hours to cool down and I had a late arrival so I got hardly any sleep because of how hot it was. The remote for the TV did not have a battery cover, the outlet in the bathroom did not work. All of the light fixtures did not work and when I walked to my bed with socks on because of how dirty the place felt I stepped in something wet on the floor. I would never stay here again and hope Baymont does something about this property as I have stayed at Baymont's before and never had an issue. The staff was nice and the shower and sink area were upgraded enough to take pictures. The rest of the furniture was old and falling apart.

If you want to walk up 3 flights of stairs while feeling like its 100° reeks of cigarette smoke and marijuana, this is the place for you. We checked in and out within minutes. I have pictures of cigarette butts in the room, stained sheets and dirty toilet and tried to get a refund but the manager could not be contacted for the refund so I had to eat the cost. Looks run down on the outside....not for us and was disappointed that the manager would not talk with us.

This hotel is not conveniently located to any restaurants, nor is it walkable to downtown. They offer a shuttle after 4 pm, but it was rarely available. The neighborhood did not feel safe, as there was frequently a crowd of locals in front of it. They do not have an elevator, so I had to walk up three fights of stairs, carrying all of my luggage with a sprained knee. The indoor hallways had heaters blasting, making the temperature in the hallways and staircases higher than 100 degrees. They also had a very strong urine stench. The showers were either ice cold or boiling hot, and could not be adjusted. I travel frequently and do not recommend.

The last night there one of the staff was extremely rude checking out then tried to accuse me of smoking in my NON smoking room so she could take my deposit talking bout you smoked in there cause I smoke. Insinuating she was having a withdrawal

It appeared nothing like the photos we saw prior to our trip. The neighborhood was questionable at best, and the folks hanging out outside were even more questionable. The TV didn't work, the hallway blared the heater 24/7, and the smell was horrible. The door had issues closing and no elevator. It just seemed like a very shady place. Staff, however, was courteous. I did not feel safe being in that motel, a motel, not hotel as advertised.
