Comfort Inn Detroit Downtown

Rooms were extremely small ,breakfast was not good. Location was great.

The front desk clerk was so friendly and pleasent. All staff that we encountered smiled and said hello. The hotel in as great as it was as withing walking distance to where we were going and therefore didn't have to pay parking fees

The staff was excellent from the front desk to breakfast to housekeeping. I can say clean was a factor. The location is perfect for a walk on the Riverwalk and if you are visiting the Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre. You can also walk the 13 blocks to downtown, take the public transportation or ride one of those scooters as alternatives to ride share. I didn't get a chance to take their shuttle to downtown Detroit at 4 p.m. on the weekend. It was also a quiet area and I was able to walk across the street to get snacks at a convenience store. However, the property is extremely dated, the elevator was not working from the 1st floor, and the fridge was a "cooler". So, no food or drink could actually be stored in there. These were the downsides.

Good place to stay for a good value. The bed was clean and comfortable and staff was very friendly and accommodating. There were a few things that needed updating, but overall, it provided everything we needed for a quick stay.

The hotel appeared to be in a potentially dangerous area. People were openly drinking and using drugs outside the entrance, the elevator was not working, and the property was surrounded by a neighborhood with significant safety concerns. I did not feel comfortable or safe staying there.

Got into our room and the bathroom didn’t even have a door handle. It was broken off. The carpet had stains as well. The area wasn’t safe despite being downtown. Someone was getting arrested at the entrance when we were coming back to our room. I’ll absolutely never stay here again.

Hotel is located ten minutes from amphitheater which is close enough to walk to it instead of having to drive to facility a great deal when going to a concert

I didn't like that when I went to use the coffee machine I found an eyelash extension in the water basin part, but it's not a big deal, I was a housekeeper a long time before so I understand things can happen.

The property is older and in need of remodel but it was clean. We did have a musty smell in my room and hallway. We also had issue with the bedding but the manager and staff had it resolved quickly.

The hotel was supposed to be smoke free but reeked of the smell. The carpets and bathroom were dirty. This was a room for just sleeping, would not spend anymore time there. And the elevator was broken.

Our bathroom door was cracked but other than that, the room was fine. The hot tub in the room was awesome and the breakfast was decent

The greatest selling point of this property however has to be the breakfast. The continental spread is fantastic, including multiple hot and cold options, a waffle maker, toaster for easy reheating and a great selection of teas, coffee and juices. Everything is very hearty and you can easily fill up on enough to keep you satisfied through late afternoon. There are vending machines on property if you do happen to miss the breakfast window and the gas station across the road is also well stocked.

Got back to the room at 11p.m. asked for some towels and this sorry dude said we can't get none until 7 and we had to leave at 5. He ended up doing it, but got an attitude!!! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!

Good Staff

It was exactly what we wanted

Hotel was cool for one night. Elevator was out so that was disappointing especially when you are on the 3rd floor. Staff was great and friendly.
