Super 8 by Wyndham Dunbar/Charleston Area

Location -close to places I like to shop Parking

It just seemed like maintenance was lacking a little and not much had been fixed/upgraded since we had been there 4 years ago.

Had a great time

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good for not being a full hot breakfast.

room was clean, sheets clean, bathroom clean had roach trap in room, but better then poison -

Made reservations through a 3rd party for the wrong weekend and didnt get to stay. No refunds

All the staff (regardless of what time of day you interacted with them) were very pleasant and got along with one another. The longevity of their time working for The Super 8 in Dunbar is a testament to how they’re treated by management. I stayed at the other 2 hotels in Dunbar and the owner has a big turnover of staff. If you like black mold and questionable bookkeeping (ie., billing inflated) don’t reserve at the Super 8. If you like clean rooms and honest billing then the Super 8 is the place to stay.

I was ok with it until 2 days ago at night when I asked the night guy if coke machine took cc says yes. I tried 3 different cards and he not once tried to help or come look at it. Went to room came back to try one more time and still no help. Other staff were nice as can be. Also lastly you need railing that goes from highest floor to 1st floor acckit has small chair connect and ected to it so you can bypass all the stairs. lol just a suggestion.

room smelled of past cigarette smoke. someone played music loudly all night for one night and u could smell weed throughout the whole hotel

I like my super 8s was convenient and close to where I needed to go That the night staff was not cooperating with us and threatened to canceled our reservation when we said we were on our way. Told them that we couldn't help the traffic, and still threatened to cancel

I chose this location because of ratings and price and the proximity to Charleston casinos. Prices were better than onsite hotels and there were more amenities (Wendys, McDonalds, Ollies, Kroger, Variety Stores, etc). Definately recommend for savings and comfort and easy access. I was traveling by myself and I felt comfortable at this location. Best thing was the staff and two rescue cats they care for.

I liked the air conditioner The sheets had bugs. The room was on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator and the TV didnt work
