Also found a hair in our sink (wasn't too big an issue to wash away but still). The room was comfy and met expectations, apart from the loud fridge (iced over so it was working overtime which was super frustrating to deal with). It's definitely not a bad hotel, just wish we'd had a better experience.

Newly renovated Bed soft for me, but just barely and I’m super picky due to back issues, but not terrible!

The first room I had was a queen room on the parking lot downstairs. It was small and not so nice. i the moved across the hall to a king room and was much happier. There was a very loud barking dog that made my stay less pleasurable. Breakfast was very basic. Dogs should not be allowed to constantly bark.

how small the place is there isn’t anything to dislike

Solid place to stay & good value. I would stay here again. It won’t knock your socks off but it’s a solid place in a great location.

I would absolutely stay here again. The only thing that would have made it a 10/10 was a closet or portable wardrobe (could even be by request, shoot I didn't think to ask!) for hanging clothes. There are a few pegs, but we came for a wedding nearby and had formal wear in addition to sweaters/jacket. Oh! Something like they have in cruise showers, a detachable drying line, would also be great to hang wet swim suits.

Proximity to beach The toiletries were limited or lacking, breakfast hours were very early and coffee and searing was limited. When we tried to use the microwave in our room we lost all power in the room. Good shower head!

VERY clean, great modern new flooring - no carpet to stain or smell humid. Modern bathrooms, LED TV, and lighting updated touches. WONDERFUL BEDS!! We slept like babies. QUIET hotel only a few blocks from Moonlight Beach. We had plans, so did not get to see the breakfast offerings, nor swim in the pool. Also, excellent variety of restaurants on Coast Hwy only 1-3 min driving. We love staying here. It's a RELIEF over larger, noisy chain hotels!

My husband and I stay at this property frequently. The staff is very supportive and friendly and they are great about accommodating special requests whenever possible. The hotel is within close proximity to the beach and there are many great restaurants to choose from around town. We recommend this hotel to everyone who is traveling to the San Diego north county area.

Great hotel for a budget traveler. Rooms are very clean and big enough. Lack light if you need. Breakfast is lame.

It was okay! It’s a place to stay near town and the beach. It’s nothing special though and I probably won’t be back.

The housekeeping staff was very friendly, but one day our room was not serviced. We were out for about five hours and returned around 3:00 p.m. to find it untouched. Since we planned to stay in for the rest of the day, I exchanged the towels and emptied the trash myself. I was told housekeeping prioritizes checkout rooms first, but I was surprised our room had not been serviced despite being vacant for several hours. We did not use the pool or breakfast, but appreciated having a Keurig coffee maker, microwave, and small refrigerator in the room, which made it easy to bring our own breakfast and snacks. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful, and I understand they are doing their best while finishing the remodel. One frustration was that two of the room lights were motion-activated and turned off automatically. Twice, the bathroom light shut off while it was in use, which was inconvenient. I appreciate sustainability efforts, but automatic shutoffs in the bathroom were frustrating. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is dog-friendly, within walking distance of great restaurants and downtown Encinitas, and just a short distance from the beach.

The location was great, near the beach and restaurants. The room was clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating. It was pet friendly. We had to ask for someone to come fix the TV and to bring the hair dryer and iron and ironing board that were supposed to be in the room. The in-room coffee maker did not work. To be fair, it could be that these things could have been due to the fact that they were in the process of painting and doing some refurbishing.

The staff was nice enough. The room was dirty. We were told it was newly renovated but I guess that means it has new flooring and shower. The bed was old and the sheets were gross. You could feel the springs in the mattress.
