Holiday Inn Purdue - Fort Wayne by IHG

booked through Expedia for a wedding event. The hotel is good, no complaints. Friendly staff. Clean. Great location. Our only issue is specifically with Expedia over charging us $ 100. 2 night stay actual charge by hotel was $100 cheaper on my receipt. Contacted Expedia but they refuse to refund me the overage.

I booked this hotel because my daughter in law told me that is was near Purdue where the ceremony would be held. I did not know that housekeeping services would not be available. The carpeting in the room was filthy and the chairs were dirty. One of the elevators were not in service during the 3 nights I stayed. The key card continued to deactivate and hotel staff would just reactivate without asking for identification. Additionally, my daughter in law, who was not staying with me, was given a key to the room and was able to come up without question. There appeared to be a party in the hotel lobby one night with a lot of young people. I guess you get what you pay for...

Our fridge didn't work and toilet didn't flush right and Noone came to fix it.

The room smelled musty when we first entered. There was a lot of dust/dirt on the bathroom floor that came up when I wiped up some water after a shower. It makes me wonder if we got a room that was not used for a long period of time. In the main walkway by the front desk, there were some loose/broken tile. The front desk person just said “be careful” after my mother almost tripped over it. A caution sign or the like would have been safer. The hot tub is permanently closed, but the pool was fine. The equipment in the fitness room was not well maintained.

Cons: Suitcases had to go on the beds, no bench or luggage racks. No microwave. Only 1 styrofoam cup for coffee (room sleeps 4). We were on the 5th floor. Ice provided only on floors 4 and 6. Had to ask at the desk since no signs were provided. Water cooler in the lobby was usually empty. There was coffee available in the lobby but the styrofoam cups were thin and too hot to hold (I used 2 each time). Breakfast was $15 each! There were 2 elevators but only 1 of them was working. I would not recommend. Next time we’ll stay at Holiday Inn EXPRESS!!

Hotel needs investment. Carpets in hallways smell. 1 elevator not working. Washer out of order. Parking lot in back very crumbled

So then we Had to go elsewhere and spend.mote money to eat

Had a room booked for weeks then when we go to check in we find out they had overbooked and gave our room away. didn’t even offer to make it right.

The hot tub was not working, the pool was quite cold, and both the shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower were empty. The air conditioning unit also leaked water onto the carpet in our room. It was not worth having a discussion as the hotel was full, staff was clearly overwhelmed, and there were not enough staff to support customers. Check-in was frustrating because the credit card system was down. Although I had already booked and paid online, guests were unable to check in or receive room keys for at least 45 minutes because the hotel said they needed to be able to process incidentals. The staff member clearly had no support and it was before 5pm. One thing to note is that breakfast is not included and costs extra. The breakfast is a normal hotel breakfast. Also, while the hotel is close enough to walk to nearby venues, there are no sidewalks or crosswalks, which makes walking less convenient and potentially unsafe.

No Microwave and the Suite is not actually a Suite. A plastic couch added to a room doesn't make it a Suite

There isn't a street in Fort Wayne that isn't covered in potholes, and Coliseum Blvd in front of the hotel is one of the worst streets. Of course, Holiday Inn is not responsible for the city's poor management.

Idk what the issue is exactly but there was an absolutely overwhelming sewage smell. I was on the 400 floor at the low end of the numbers. Anyone who disputes this either hasn’t been there or lacks the sense of smell.

Great hotel stay, will return anytime we’re visiting my daughter on campus.

Great,except charge for breakfast

Not recommended, at least not in its current state, as they are way overpriced, not at all like the pictures. You can find a place nearby way cheaper with better amenities. The staff were nice, but you could tell they hear about these experiences alot and wish something could be done about it.

Reserved a King room. Was told at checking none available due to renovations and was offered free breakfast vouchers. Rooms are in fairly bad condition. For how new-ish this hotel is, it has not been upkept.

I hate this hotel. Promised handicap and delivered bathtub with one poorly placed grab bar. No accessible towel racks. Plumbing coming loose. No room service even after 3 days. Room often doesn't work. No desk. Sarcastic desk clerk & long waits.

I needed a last minute booking. The staff made this a smooth process.
