The hotel offers only an option to book a half board. The in-house restaurant could have been better, not a gourmet type of cuisine.
-
The breakfast took ages to be prepared I saw a live cockroach in my room The bathroom needs updating but the shower had excellent pressure During the night there was a constant on/off sound of a generator which was disturbing please see above

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was great, I had breakfast only during my stay due to my group activities, but dinner and steaks looked delicious. Location is very convenient, centered within Franschhoek main street and close to all the shops, restaurants, wine tram, etc. The main thing I didn't like was the privacy of my room, but I understand this is how the hotel vibe was. The room door was actually sliding glass doors looking over the corridor and pool, and the same with the 2 smaller windows. So I always had to have the curtains closed, and no way to get natural light in the room without sacrificing privacy.

Hotel location is ideal and all the shops and restaurants were a walking distance away.

restaurant was top notch

This place was just awesome. Location to the tram. Evening walk around the beautiful small town. The set breakfast menu awesomely prepared. Linen, clean rooms. Wonderful staff. I loved it there and I'll definitely visit again.

Perfect location

Great Location in the wine country with assorted high-end shops within walking distance. Also close to a number of nice restaurants. Excellent breakfast included in the rate. Secure parking area. Nothing, really. Parking for check-in is a little unclear as there is no special parking at the hotel on arrival.

Breakfast was ok - a fair selection. As all rooms face onto an open passageway/ pool area - it was very noisy with doors slamming and showers and baths being run at all hours of the night! No privacy in the bedroom without having the curtains drawn. People tend to look into the bedrooms so you can't have the doors or windows or curtains open. Room was comfortable and clean with great shower! The Hussar Grill Breakfast Manager needed to be more attentive as to the need for clean plates on the buffet!! There were dirty side plates in a pile on the buffet. I requested clean plates. He told the Watron to wipe them - she said she would take them to be washed!! It would have been nice if he greeted you instead of ignoring me when I was looking for a side plate on another occasion! The traffic noise on the road side of the restaurant is crazy. Evening in Hussar Grill - the Waiters need to pay more attention - we had to get up and call them on a few occasions!! Maybe it is slack because they think we are all tourists who will never return!! The food was good, high prices but the service doesn't match! The Reception Staff weren't friendly and didn't help much with local knowledge.

We went on a last-minute weekend trip and this was a great hotel to stay with friends - small enough to feel exclusive, but big enough to host us. The location is great, and the staff (esp Precious) who were all super engaging made the stay memorable.
-
Everything. The staff was amazing. Beautiful hotel.
-
Beautiful rooms, lovely food and the most excellent service. The manager and staff are truly going out of their way to make your stay truly special. We even got a lift to the wedding we were going to as no taxis were available.

Our family arranged this stay for our 80year old mother and her husband. Her comments: beautiful bright bedroom with snow white linen and pristine clean bathroom. Location great and staff very helpful.

There was no service around the pool. There were tables and chairs but nothing to eat or drink.
