When I arrived at the hotel, I was told that check-in was at a different building. After going there, I was then informed that my actual room was another one mile away. I had to reload all of our luggage into my car and drive to another address just to get to our room. Unfortunately, the room itself was also disappointing. The bathtub was very dirty, and the floor had not been properly cleaned and was sticky. Overall, this was a very frustrating and unpleasant experience. I would not recommend this hotel to families, especially those traveling with kids. When I asked for an extra comforter, instead of having someone bring it to my room, I was told to find the maintenance room myself, where the door would be open, and take the comforter. This was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Guests should not be expected to search for a maintenance room and retrieve their own bedding. Overall, this hotel provided a very poor experience, and I would not recommend it, especially for families with children.

The staff was lovely. The room was comfortable and good for the cost considering we were in Maine in August. Location is convenient

Room was clean. Parking good. Shower and sink drains were slow. Has a pool and fridge and microwave. No breakfast. Bed was very comfortable. Would stay here again

Check-in staff was helpful, courteous, and exceptional. We stayed at the "lower property" across the water. Hallway smelled like stale smoke and the exterior door didn't lock.
-
But hallway and stairway were very dirty. Bathroom was covered under hair and front door lock was broken to get inside building

An older renovated property. The rooms looked nice, but it’s very obvious that it has been given a face lift. Staff was very friendly , and the location was convenient.

Staff was great and super friendly. Someone definitely living behind the dumpster of the muddy rudder part of the hotel. The shower faucet didnt shut off well. The curtain was very jammed. Room was clean. Was priced accordingly to condition.

They have a second building that we ended up staying in. This is not even located near the office or the pool. In order for the kids to go swimming we had to get in the car and drive down the road. A little inconvenient. The tub didn't drain at all! It would literally fill up while we took a shower. We let the staff know and they said they'd put draino down into it. It helped a little but it still didn't fully drain. Overall not satisfied and we will not be staying there again.

Full disclosure. I am a Maine native and have transitted around this area for decades. I am sure that losing the Muddy Rudder was tough but 1) no lighting around the property 2) $50 per night hold for damages. Not industry standard. 3) room on Riverside where there is really no signage or lighting. Have to walk on rte 1 to get to pool. Something sticky that I was hoping that they used to clean the tile floor in the room. Pretty inexpensive but reviews were inflated.

Ice machine was broken, no elevator, and the building was a mile away from the main building.

The hotel was the worst Best Western I've ever stayed at. It was run down and old, the furniture in the room was worn and ragged. Everything in the room needed to be replaced. I would never stay there again.

The remote could have used fresh batteries, the AC room temp seemed unadjustable, I don't recall finding a washcloth. But they are nice clean spacious rooms, very convenient to the highway.

Drove past it twice

Way over priced for what I received.

Yes, as others mentioned, check-in was slow. The guy checking us in was really nice though. Yes there are 2 separate buildings for the hotel, one just down the road, but that is not a big deal either. We were in the building by the river and we got a top story room right next to the stairs. The room was pretty clean. They do not move furniture to vacuum, so when we moved the chair a little, we found a bunch of hair and crumbs. Beds we decent. The major downside was we heard the door to stairs open and close a dozen times (very loud slamming closed) all starting around 6:30am each morning. Not ideal for vacation. I would most definitely try to get a room not on the ends of that building if possible. We didn't really venture to see the pool of any other (if any) amenities.

Vraiment pas un bel endroit. Tres mal entretenu. Notre fenetre de chambre ne fermait pas et était vissée par l'extérieur afin de l'empêcher d'ouvrir plus. C'est plutôt un MOTEL de travailleurs.

Place was clean and conviently located

If you want a place to rest your head and don't mind the tenor so minute drive into Freeport this place hits the spot

We stayed in whatever other building there was across the property and it needed some construction. It was a bit dusty and just overall underkept. The room was fine but our room key ended up not working for a random reason and we had to drive down to the office to resolve the issue. There was also only one person at the desk, who was very helpful, but there should be more people to speed up the processes. 2 highlights are the food surrounding the hotel, the Freeport Cafe was super well priced and a great environment + Day's crab and lobster was tasty and had a cute seating area. The parking was also free and we were close to both Freeport and Portland.

It was good, the office is on the other side of a bridge but it was close enough.
