Brickhouse Inn

Extremely helpful staff!

The only strange thing was that the blankets always felt damp, although the sheets were dry. There was a dehumidifier in the room, so perhaps it was just the humidity. We didn’t complain since the sheets were all we really needed. We tried the $18 breakfast one morning. We knew it was in the Victorian House, but it was confusing figuring out exactly where inside the house breakfast was being served, as the emailed instructions didn’t seem to match the instructions in the book. The staff was friendly and helpful once we found it. Unfortunately, we didn’t feel the breakfast was worth $18 per person and would eat elsewhere next time. We also never quite figured out the EV charger or how payment worked, so we charged elsewhere. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and especially appreciated the history of the Welty House.

I loved it first off. It was charming and quaint and very much was right in the middle of Gettysburg town. We loved the themes of the house and the decor was fabulous. Our room was the New York room and as much as I didnt like the walk to the top, lol but I made it. lol I loved the feeling in the house. We were only there one night and wished we could of stayed longer. I loved the bathroom and room with the window out front and the set up of the room. Thought the TV would be better on the wall but it was all good. Also didnt know the room was on the third floor which would be hard for others with disabilities to walk up. Maybe I missed it. I also feel there should of been a ramp down, not steps, from the parking to the house. It would make it easier for everyone with the option of steps. But we slept wonderfully and no noise where we were on the very top But I would not of changed a thing. Thank you for having us and treating us so good. In the morning we met a wonderfukl Girl names Stacy that helped us and gave us good ideas to do that day, like places to eat which was great place at Gettysburg Family Restaurant. So so delicious. The night before we met Lori and she was great as our greeter. I wrote in the book int the room and read some of the beautiful stories of others stay. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. The rooms remind me of "visiting Grandma's house." Staff was attentive and very helpful. The champaign "greet and meet" at 5 was a nice way to meet your neighbors. On the first floor there are areas to sit and chat, board games and a small gift shop. Unfortunately we had a rainy stay, but the backyard has a fire pit, hot tub and some games. Of course the ample porch has rocking chairs to sit and people watch. Location is fantastic. Right in the middle of so many small stores, restaurants and sightseeing opportunities. We love the location because there are so many things to do within walking distance. This will not be our final visit!

Excellent place for couples. Quaint, quiet, and comfortable. They put a lot of TLC into maintaining a clean space and amenities. Small quirky things like squeaky floorboards should be expected, as this place is very old, but well maintained. 5/5 Would stay again in the future.

Very cool historic house. We stayed in the Illinois Room with a bay window that overlooks the street. The bed was comfortable and the room was decorated in the old style. There are rocking chairs on the porch for people watching.

No staff present that we encountered, clean , quiet, continental breakfast food and tee coffee and fruit out in kitchen area

Very clean rooms and very friendly staff. located close the down town (walking distance). The offer a gourmet breakfast for extra money or a grab and go breakfast comparable to other hotel breakfasts at no extra cost.

The Brickhouse Inn is a lovely place to stay for a visit to Gettysburg. It’s in a great Location and is easy to walk into the town and only a short walk away from East Cemetery Hill and the National Cemetery. It’s comfortable and has character. I would recommend it for visitors to Gettysburg.

The gift shop wasn't even open Monday and Tuesday.

Our overall stay was pretty good! I Liked the room and convenient location . Obviously it lacks some of the conveniences that a typical hotel would provide, but that's expected. I felt like communication with staff was a little inconsistent and parking is limited even for the people staying there. The breakfast was tasty but I'm not sure it was exactly worth $18 a person. However, I liked getting the opportunity to talk to other guests during breakfast and learning the history of the place. It was nice I could schedule tours through them as well.

Great property with a lot of history

Quaint and so centrally located. You can walk to restaurants and shopping. Grab and Go breakfast was generous. Would recommend to anyone!

House and room were great. I booked the room and then went looking for tours and booked some. Days later I received an email from the Brickhouse inn informing me that they had tours. I would suggest that the Brickhouse make it known at the time of booking that they had their own tours. I would have preferred their tours.

The room was clean, the staff was friendly and inviting, the place had an old victorian feel and not staged. It’s right on the main strip in downtown Gettysburg. Definitely will stay there again.

The the rooms themselves were good, but it felt like the B&B was run by remote control. We stayed two non-consecutive nights in two different rooms in two buildings. The first night, we arrived, and the door code they’d sent for entry into the building was wrong. I called their help line, and got a recording telling me to text them, I did and got a new code that worked. That process was pretty stressful at 10 PM at night. On our second stay, the email information from the hotel given access code to a lock that did not work. Fortunately, the room was unlocked, but it was only blind luck that I tried the door handle. Inside the door, there was a sign taped to it telling us that the door lock didn’t work and we should make sure to use the physical room keys. There were two physical room keys, one ostensibly for the room and one for the main building. The room key worked, but the main building one didn’t work when we went to pay for breakfast. Breakfast was fair; it’s billed as 3-course but is really only two with a tasty fruit course and then the main course, which is a breakfast casserole, sausage, fried potatoes and was fair as some of the potatoes were heavily overdone. Also, there are no options for breakfast or at least they don’t ask so if you are vegetarian, you are still getting sausage. Not good. The staff are nice, but are not the owners which contributed to the “remote control” feel

I had breakfast there for the 3 mornings I was there and every one was delicious. The location is also very good and you can walk to most places in town and driving to the battlefield is straightforward.

Simply wonderful!
