Clean room, well maintained property, comfortable bed, well above average breakfast included. Would stay again.

Fire alarm went off at 2:30am. This has happened to me in other hotels. Not a huge deal. It’s how this place handled it is why I give 1 star. The one guy working was overwhelmed. Took over an hour outside to get the clear to go back to our rooms. However, the fire doors were locked shut, the one overwhelmed employee didn’t have a clue. Now my stuff is locked in a room. Took even longer for him to finally call someone. Felt he was trying to avoid that at all cost. His lack of training and professionalism quadrupled the inconvenience.

First, after an incredibly long day at my daughter’s wedding, I returned to the hotel after midnight, and my card to open my hotel room did not work. I was carrying a lot of bags from the wedding and had to return downstairs - five flights - to the front desk where the front desk clerk said a new key card had to be issued each day. No one told me this at check-in. Next, on the same night, at 2:37am, after getting two hours of sleep, the fire alarm rang, and all the hotel guests had to stand around on the sidewalk for about 30-45 minutes. I have not been in a middle-of-the-night-fire-alarm since freshman year of college. We had to go up five flights of steps to get back to our room, exhausting, only to find we were now locked out of our rooms by fire doors that were still locked. So we had to wait another 30-45 minutes in the hallway while a maintenance person was called in to return to work to open the doors. No one offered to refund any of the cost of the stay. I had to seek a partial refund for a miserable, expensive hotel stay. Literally, the hostel I stayed in while in NYC was better. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Arrived at check-in time and room was ready. Would prefer there be a better self park option. Valet is promoted. Bathroom in room had a sour smell from what appeared to be from a towel that was used to clean and not followed up with a second cleaning. So, can't say how clean the bathroom really was. Someone pulled the fire alarm at 2:30 AM in the morning, so we had to exit the building. That was not fun. Nice buffet breakfast offered with the cost of the room, but no sanitizer available at the buffet. That needs to be addressed immediately. Can't say I would return unless convinced these things were fixed.

The light in the room (226) that is on the wall above the desk blinked during the night (when it was turned off) so it was like a strobe light. We woke up to the barking dog the next morning. We had to use our app on our phone for sounds thru the night. The next night we were woken up by the fire alarm at 2:30 am and had to evacuate- which I realize that was out of your control. While we were in bed around 8am we had housekeeping knock and open our door to come in! The sign that I had put on the door had come off when we evacuated at 2:30 and I was so tired I didn’t notice it was off.

I have not stayed at many hotels but based on my sons reactions this was the best stay ever for him, he’s asking me when can we do it again and he’s been in many hotels being in the military. Thanks for my best hotel experience so far.
