Staybridge Suites Gulf Shores by IHG

This was our anniversary weekend and this one of hotels me and husband agreed on. So I was disappointed that our air didn't work in our room. Also we saw a couple of big bugs one in the breakfast area and in our room.

Our A/C wasn’t blowing cold. Neighbors above us were very noisy. (Third floor) Out of handsoap in the bathroom. Nightlight did not work in the bathroom. When you sat on the end of the bed, the top of the bed raised up. Mattress was extremely uncomfortable. Elevator was slow as well. We’ve been staying here for years, so all of this was shocking to us.

First off, the front desk lady was not friendly or helpful. Second, the room had mold on the ceiling in the kitchen, no hand soap, no blow dryer, no kleenexes, no dishwasher soap, hot water took 10 minutes to warm up and the bath tubs took forever to drain. Third, there were never clean towels for the rooms or by the pool. Finally, the washer and dryers were so gross and shouldn’t be that hard to keep clean. Only nice features were the complimentary ice in bags and it was free to wash the laundry (minus buying your own supplies). Do not stay here!

First room had a leak in the ceiling and had black mold, They did move us quickly and seemed genuine when they apologized. One of the ladies at the front desk was very rude my first encounter with her my key card wasn’t working to get into my room for the second time that day and when I told her she rudely said your first card is the one that is assigned to your room so when you keep replacing them it’s going to keep happening. I explained that it was the original key the gentleman before that helped me reprogrammed the same card and it’s the same one doing the exact same thing. She said Oh turned around got replacements and made sure to let me know they were new key cards. The second encounter with her I went to get laundry soap ask for a basket since the one for our room was missing and to request clean towels. I had to holler hello after standing there for sometime because she was no where insight. She acted very annoyed with my simple requests and we never got towels as requested housekeeping seemed to actually have skipped our room completely after that. I would not stay here again or recommend to anyone!

Had to request towels every day for the room and clean the room myself. Hotel offers breakfast but the staff did not keep the area clean for my liking. When I arrived social hour was going on, area not clean, counter was sticky. This is a turn off when you wake up to enjoy the breakfast. Came across several people with dogs, But I can say I never smelled the dogs or had to take my allergy meds while I was there. Overall it was okay, The housekeeping was the biggest issue for me. I was there with my 4 grandkids.

My hotel stay was nice. All of the front desk staff were friendly, except for one young lady who I wasn’t that impressed with. The room was clean. Housekeeping missed cleaning my room one day, but were great the rest of the week. I was pleased that it really was close to the beach since this was my first time in Gulf Shores. I would stay here again. I will definitely return next year!!

Very solid hotel for a good price. Room was nice. Breakfast was good every day. Free laundry was very nice, as well.

We had a roach in the bathroom and stains all over our sheets. We paid way too much for that to be the case.

Location Room had a weird smell. Shower needs some serious cleaning.

The wait time to check in

Property is dated and in need of some serious upgrades. The humidity level is extremely uncomfortable in the rooms. Simple things like room doors in need of repair and closet doors not secured.

The carpet in a lot of the common areas was really stained and disgusting. The pool wasn't very clean. There is only one elevator for the whole hotel. Only stayed because the rest of the team was here. I've stayed at other Staybridge hotels that were a lot nicer and better maintained. Wouldn't necessarily recommend.

The breakfast could’ve been a little better! Over all the location was wonderful! The breakfast was the only thing that I didn’t quite agree with!

From the desk very rude. We arrived early and check in to see how soon room would be ready. The desk clerk said it should be ready by 230 or 3 at the latest. I can call you when it's ready. I said great. We came back to the property at 345. The desk clerk asked another employee I guess he was however he had no name tag on and dressed unprofessional. He said no check ins until 4. So there were 4 couples hanging out in the lobby waiting for 4 pm. Someone comes in to check in and he checks in no problem. We all just look at each other. Then at 355 she let's the rest of us check in. We get to our room and housekeeping left a couple spray bottles in our room. I sa a housekeeper in the hallway and asked how long has the room been cleaned and she said before lunch.

The room was exceptional. Fully loaded kitchen with dining ware set. The fridge was extremely necessary for us to store breast milk in. My family was very happy with the experience. N/A

I was overcharged over $---dollars and had to call the hotel. Also, housekeeping was not good and we asked 4x for sheets to be brought to the room for the pull out bed on the couch and they would not bring them.

My door card would go out everyday. Soon as I get to my door my card would not work. Very frustrating after a long day.
